So who else is going?
-
i'm there ;)
-
Meeeeeeee.
You know what, I really hope they do Last Day on Earth, Blowin' Cool, or since I heard they're doing some rare B-Sides on this tour, I'd love to hear Hands.
-
So TOTALLY there. Last time I saw them was when they opened for Smashing Pumpkins at WUST. Ah, the memories...15 years ago.
-
I'm making this one.......at the last minute!....
-
leaving right now...first 930 show since last fall.
-
Yep - Heading out in a few minutes.
-
heading out right now, -totally excited. the setlists from the last 2 nights (chapel hill and philly) and the tour so far are amazing.
-
Holy Shit!! wish they woulda played until dawn....
For Seeking Heat
The Birds
Sandblasted
99th Dream
The Hitcher
The Other Jesus
These Times
Bring Me The Head of the Fortune Teller
Girl on a Motorbike
Duel
Never Lose That Feeling
Rave Down
Son of Mustang Ford
--------
Wrong Treats
Last Train to Satansville
Duress
Totally worth the 10 year wait; -one of those rare shows where you've got a giant shit-eating grin on your face for the whole 90 minutes. Not crowded at all, easily got a front row spot. Swervedriver Heaven.
-
DUEL AND SON OF MUSTANG FORD ROCKED!
-
Sonofabitch!
I'm jealous.
-
actually Satansville was probably the best song of the night.

It was very good but Duress was my favorite. Probably my favorite Swervedriver song. Was very, very happy that it was played plus I just thought that it came off the best. Love all that string bending and effects on that song.
Was hoping to hear Ejector Seat Reservation which I love but I still left satisfied. That song cracks me up!
Bring Me The Head Of The Fortune Teller is up there as one of my more favorite Swervedriver songs and was glad to hear it except it was way off key which was bugging me. But for me, Duress more than made up for it.
I almost didn't make it to the show because of car problems which would have pissed me off to no end. Have been wanting to see Swervedriver for years!
Unfortunately, I missed Terra Diablo because I attended my cousin's birthday party which was very nice. Not that I'm much of a fan of their music but I use to kind of know one of the guys in the band. How were they?
-
Totally agree with Satansville and Duress being the highlights. I was a little disappointed that we didn't hear Sci-Flyer, Sunset, or Deep Seat, but you gotta hand it to the band for mixing up the set list every night and pulling out some of the lesser known stuff.
Was Wrong Treats really in there? I don't recall, but I was also getting a little toasty by the end of the night after several pops.
A quick note before my tired a$$ gets back to work - My last show at the "new" 930 was the Afghan Whigs in November 1998. It was just too weird that the club played "Gentlemen" between Longwave and the Swervies, but I was loving it.

do my eyes deceive me, or did mr. marshmallow actually enjoy a show?
-
I gasped too.

I don't remember Wrong Treats being played, but I *do* remember yelling for them to play Deep Seat. Totally fine with Duress though! They really tore up the club, even with a fairly small audience there. I walked in the club about 10 minutes before they got in, and easily got a front/center spot. I wish it had been more packed, though.
AND, they did Girl on a Motorbike, which was such a left-turn for me, I had NO clue they still played that song.
Amazing show!

yes ixkpd-bk and daverad, not 100% sure they played Treats; I just copied the bassist's setlist I got after the show, which had that and Satansville as the encores. Lucky for us they switched out for or added Duress which was not on the original. I also yelled for Deep Seat a coupla times. Oh well, we got 2 of the 3 Big D's: Duel and Duress.
Some dude on swervedriver.com said he'll post some pics and possibly vids later on, so check it out.
Got such a buzz that today when I got out of work and my car wouldn't start (so I had to walk in the pounding heat and take some busses home, leaving my car on its own), I somehow am arriving home 1.5 hours late and sweaty, but I'm still in a good mood.

Wow, I'm bummed I missed this, due to an ill-scheduled barbeque (my own). Both for seeing the band, and for a very rare Jaguar sighting.

Hey,Doomie........I was THERE and still did not get a Jaguar sighting......I think she was incognito or something...
-
You don't see her if you look for her... you have to be gazing at your shoes, and then she appears...
-
i have jaguradar so i spotted her right away.
excellent show. thought the first couple of songs were a bit mediocre, but they were just warming up. from "sandblasted" on, the set was high quality. great guitar-rock band. "rave down" and "duress" were my highlights.
i'm seeing them again on thursday in nyc. i hope they stick around for a while, they didn't sound like they missed ten years at all.
-
I enjoy most of what I go to... :D I dis bands I like also...it's fun ;)

I thought this would be my chance to meet the elusive Jaguar but alas, I felt like absolute shit a few hours prior to showtime and didn't go. :( Guess it'll have to be Ulrich Schnauss.
