you also don't claim Wham!, NKOTB, and The Spice and Girls as secrets :)
speaking of the Spice Girls I saw that VH-1 has done a Behind the Music on them. It was on last but I was watching Christine Ricci, Johnny Depp, etc being sullen in "The Man who Cried".
i suspect smackie will score high on this one

Then again some of the questions were catered for me.
Oh, and nothing is a "Duran" but "Duran Duran" was a character in Barbarella.

Yeah, I have a great book called "Rock Names" by Adam Dolgins which explains where many bands got their names. Do you know where "The Beautiful South" came from? The book is from the 90's but does cover some of the more obscure bands from that period.

yes, great great, cause Melville died before the turn of the century, not likely to be a grandfather of someone born in the 60s. :)
his middle name is Melville too. and his first name is Richard....Dick. go figure.

It is great, covers a lot of bands, especially the 60's classics. Moby Grape was named after the joke, The Beautiful South as an ironic comment on South London, and Robert Zimmerman changed his name in honor of an uncle Dillion and chose something that looked better. Love this book. Can bring it to the 22nd thing.

What 22nd thing?
and what is the difference between a film score and a soundtrack exactly?

To me a score is what is actually used in the movie and the soundtrack is a collection of songs used (and now sometimes "Inspired by") in the movie. Scores are usually more orchestral.

close, but no cigar.
There is a popular expression in the UK, "Its Grim ooop (up) North." Meaning the North of Britain..... hence the ironic Beautiful South.

Did anyone watch "Will and Grace" last night? Grace's hat looked like the hats worn by Devo in the "Whip It" video.

I'm shocked, actually -- the first section on collecting was way beyond me; I only collect CDs. I don't care so much about getting bootlegs or imports with obscure B-sides. I dont even keep ticket stubs in any organized fashion (which now kind of makes me sad; i'd have some kick ass stubs from "Bags: The Early Years"
Hence, I thought I was going to do quite badly.
My understanding has always been that the score is the original music composed for the movie, and is usually entirely orchestral. Soundtrack is the songs used throughout the film.

I thought the soundtrack was what ends up on a disc, not necessarily correlating with what was played in the movie ?
