When I saw the Raveonettes at the Black Cat about 2 years ago, it was phenomenal. Was not expecting a band that plays everything in b-flat to be that good, but it was phenomenal. Have never seen a BC crowd that amped up either.

I've only heard a couple Ghostland tunes and they didn't do much for me.

If you hear the new Raveonettes album and then still want to see ghostland, there is something severely wrong with you.

I'm new to both bands, and got tix for the Raveonettes before knowing about Ghostland and the 930 show.  Ghostland is more my style but some of their songs are highly derivative.  Raveonettes has good songs but some are too old school and also derivative.  Neither is a clear winner: the edge goes to Ghostland, but I have Raveonette tix...

So... I'll see the Raveonettes... unless someone wants to buy my ticket :-)

I've seen Ghostland and it was quite possibly the worst show I've ever seen. Joe Marshmallow will back me up on this.

What a stupid question. Raveonettes of course.

 Ghostland are unlistenable.

The Raveonettes just got more compelling, since I just noticed that Glasvegas is third band on the bill. I've given their record about a dozen spins, and I like it enough to buy it when it comes out. Kind of a mix of The Twilight Sad with a La's vibe.

If nothing else, this thread compelled me to get tix for the BC show, so well met.

Now...Marshall Allen is at the Velvet Lounge that night too.

 There's a tough call.

mind-blowing free jazz festival at the velvet trumps all!   ;)

... and now Glasvegas is off the bill. That's too bad.

I stick by my pick for this show conflict, but, I must admit that Ghostland is pretty damn catchy. The singer has a bit too much of the Darkness in his voice, but this I can't deny the songs sound sugar-smooth.

That is a shame.  I thought they would be a great retro pairing for the Raveonettes.
