Title: Bright Eyes
Post by: kdbp13 on March 30, 2005, 11:45:00 am
I couldn't even get tickets to the Bright Eyes shows a couple of months ago.  It sold out within a day.  Tickets are still on sale.  What is the deal here.

1.  There are two shows this time.
 2.  It hasn't been formally announced yet.

Nation Planning Surprise Birthday Party To Cheer Up Conor Oberst

OMAHA, NEâ??American citizens are coordinating efforts to lift the spirits of wünderkind singer-songwriter Conor Oberst, sources reported Monday. "I saw Conor's picture in a Spin article about Bright Eyes, and he just looked so down," said Lindsey Keisner of Youngstown, OH, one of the party's 4,000 planners. "The country feels really bad that he's going through such a rough spell, so next Friday, everyone who can should meet in Omaha with balloons, funny cards, and silly little gag gifts." Britt Daniel from Spoon will lure Oberst to Omaha by asking him to overdub some vocals.

Why do they take so long to formally announce the shows?

I don't have any idea. Maybe the bands don't want to play a sell-out show (silly, I know).
Anyway, I got my tickets yesterday, too. And I am looking really forward although I have to go alone to these shows. Is anyone else gong alone, too?

I like BE's music, but I'll have to second this one.  Last time the Faint was in town it was quite the party.
