Siblings Courtney and Brad Shanks continue to rank as one of the best male/female vocal tag teams in the business, unselfishly spreading the wealth and appropriating songs best suited to their tics. - Pitchfork

"Loud-quiet-loud has never been so dizzying." 9/10 - Onion AV Club
"What really impresses on the quintet's sophomore stunner is the way Black Mountain effortlessly shift from devastating to devastatingly beautiful." 9/10 - Alternative Press
"In The Future showcases a group who knows exactly what they're doing." 8/10 - Mojo
"On repeated listening the impression [of being a genre exercise or a hipster parody] gives way to the songs themselves, envisioning angels and demons and plaintively wondering about violence and inevitable desolation." - 8/10 New York Times
"It's this mix of the loud and the trippy that Black Mountain specializes in, and In the Future sees the band striving for epic proportions." 8/10 Billboard

I plan on attending both of these shows. I've been enjoying the new Black Mountain, and have liked what I've heard from (opener) Bon Iver.
Does anyone think Blood on the Wall will sell out? I guess it is a holiday weekend, but DC9....
-
I planned on attending both of these shows until I discovered a filthy, syphilis-riddled street teamer was whoring for them.
-
seriously. do you have to try selling these shows so hard? these ads are misplaced and cheapen the shows. they were announced in the "just announced" thread, where the info belongs.
the 930 club doesn't post such advertisements for its own shows on this, its own board.
-
hahaha...par for the course for anything related to rock and roll hotel and dc9. i wonder why the black cat slept on these shows?
-
I'll definitely be at the Bon Iver/Black Mountain show.
-
how wuz the blood on the wall show?
-
blood on the wall was pretty rockin'.
anyone make it to black mountain? i saw pink mountaintops at the warehouse a couple years ago and that was a great show.
-
By the time I got to the club, the show was sold out.
-
I went to Black Mountain. It was rocktastic. The stream is still up at NPR, if you want to hear it. Bon Iver's set, too.
-
By the time I got to the club, the show was sold out.[/b]
again, i wonder why the black cat slept on this one? what the fuck did they have last night? i would've gone if it were not in a totally lame venue.
-
Can you book Handsome Furs? :)

Capacity-wise, the RnR Hotel seemed appropriate. I got there close to 9:00 and there were still tickets available. There was no rush for tickets, a la Vampire Weekend. Maybe the Cat didn't think the draw would be big enough. Especially a month or so ago, when the band was booked.
Which would bands prefer? A half-empty Black Cat, or a packed RnR Hotel?
