Is it possible to meet the performers ie. +44, either before or after the show tonight? someone told me to wait where the buses are but I'm not familiar with the club? Anyone have any past experiences they can share? Thanks!!

I am well over 18 and just trying to get a serious answer to a serious question..

Nothing is ever guaranteed, and given that these guys are rock stars, it's probably unlikely that you'll get to meet them...but your best bet is to wait outside after the show by the alley. Either that or get there really early (like now) for soundcheck and see if maybe you can get an autograph before they go into the club. I did that for Queens of the Stone Age and got to talk to Josh Homme for like 5 minutes...it was totally worth it in my book, but I think he's a musical genius.

Just curious,If you're well over 18, why would you want to meet the performers in this teeny bopper band? Are you seeking an autograph for your kid, or something like that? If so, good for you!

There are so many variables in this. Some bands show up really early and hang at the club all day, some don't show until they are on. After the show, some rush out, others linger. You can look for the thread on Massive Attack and someone tells how they got to meet the band, some good pointers there but it is usually luck.
Also sometimes they will be at the T-shirt counter after the show, or just come out to pack up their gear and are often approachable.

Do you really care what I talked to Josh Homme about? Well, first I asked him about his sex life with Brode, then I told him that he needs to let Nick back in the band, then we shared our favorite pasta recipes. (His: carbonara, mine: orecchiette w/rapini.) I always find something to talk about with musicians for some reason. And they're almost always cool with me, the rare chances these days that I get to hang out with them. But I have some pretty fun stories about weird conversations I've had with them. The Reverend Horton Heat was WAY entertaining.

Cool. I wouldn't have a clue what to talk about with a celebrity or rock star, so generally avoid the possibility of contact.
I'm making peanut noodles with red peppers tonight, by the way. A little on the fattening side, but gotta get the protein somehow. And of course, the peanut butter from Whole Foods without all the hydrogenated oils.

Actually, music is generally a safe bet on what to talk about, but if I know a friend of theirs or something, that always opens up the avenue of discussion. I grew across the street from Steve Albini, so inevitably that opens up any number of responses.
Tonight it's goulash for me...YUM. Good stuff.

How old are you? Steve Albini is 44. I took you to be much younger.

Actually it was really cool. I met all kinds of bands...Bailter Space, the Jesus Lizard, Jawbreaker, and of course Todd Trainer and Bob Weston were over there all the time. Steve had a studio in his basement. When he moved in, Nash Kato from Urge Overkill was living with him. They put cheap plastic pink flamingoes on the lawn. One day I saw my dad hanging out, talking to Duane from the Jesus Lizard. Very random.
My favorite memory was being home from college in 1995 and I saw a Budget rental van with Ohio plates. I was trying to think of all the bands I knew from Ohio, but was drawing a blank after Guided by Beers and Pere Ubu. So then I wake up the next morning and see a "Pixies" guitar case in the street. I think "oh cool, let's see who this band is that's into the Pixies". Imagine my shock and awe when I go outside and see Kim Deal running out of the house and Kelly Deal and Jim McPherson just hanging out. I ran into my house and got whatever Pixies stuff I could find that I hadn't taken with me to college and had Kim sign it...I also had a Breeders CD that the other 2 signed. They alluded that Josephine Wiggs had run off with Kate from Luscious Jackson and they were now an item. I thought that was pretty funny. Kim dropped the master tape for the Amps record in the gutter and shrieked.
(And for the record, 31...I was about 11 when he moved in, and the cops started showing up. Then he soundproofed his basement.)
