Hey All - I've been a fan since I was brought to a show and was blown away.
Also -- I've started a new blog in the new year. I'll be blogging about music, concerts, and lots else. Feel free to stop by and give me your feedback.

prince's live shows are amazing, but his recent studio work hasn't been that great. dunno if i'll have the patience to slog through 3 albums.
-
As long as something in there prompts him to tour I'll be pretty happy. I can't honestly say I've listened to Planet Earth or 3121 a great deal. But, since seeing him, I keep a serious eye out for him to come around again.

It should be noted that only two of these albums are actually "Prince albums." He's merely producing the third one for whoever his latest student is.
But the man definitely needs to tour. Like his recent music or not, he puts on a badass show from everything I've heard.

Yep - that much was actually alluded to in my blog entry... ;)

I launched the blog this year, and will be blogging about concerts, music, etc -- I hope to receive some input, whether positive or negative, as it's a new blog...
Thanks

correct on all counts.

According to all accounts I've seen, he's playing a significant portion of the guitar tracks on the disc - if not all of them.

when i saw prince a few years back in raleigh, somehow i got first row tier and watched as he came out a side door to the center stage in a box pushed by three huge guys. plus he only played the big hits "purple rain/little red clitvette/let's go crazy, at the end, and not the whole songs. but still a great show.

The Purple Rain tour at the Cap Center was great 20+ years ago!

Not nearly as good as the 3 1/2 hour show he did at Capital Ballroom in 96 with Larry Graham on bass, and Doug E. Fresh coming out to rock a 30 min set.

According to his new website (http://www.lotusflow3r.com/) it is the place to listen to new music, and BUY CONCERT TICKETS. Meaning, unless the man has completely abandoned the idea of logic, he will play some shows. Fingers crossed for DC.
On an actual Prince music related note, the cover of "Crimson & Clover" is very good. Very processed, but very good.

3-disk album coming out on march 29, online - and exclusively thought Target. so fab. $11.98 for the set, what a deal. may the source be with you (http://www.pollstar.com/blogs/news/archive/2009/03/02/651741.aspx). he NEEDS to tour behind this!
