Same night as The Feelies. Feelies > Moz
-
Can't agree at all. I saw The Feelies live once and they really seriously sucked a big one. Then again, in all fairness, this was maybe 1989 when they opened for Lou Reed at The Myerhoff. Was really looking forward to seeing them just as much as Lou Reed but there was no comparison whatsoever. A total mismatch. Of course, Reed's maniacal ego probably appreciated that.
Anyway, The Feelies were a very young band playing in a venue that was far too big for them. Their sound was totally lost in the place and not mixed right at all. Suspect that if I would have seen them in someplace such as The Black Cat's Backstage or the Warehouse Next Door, I would have had a whole different experience and opinion. Hopefully, time has been kind to them and that they've grown into larger presentations.

the feelies were ten years old by then. not exactly young. they were getting pretty tired towards their end there.
i booked the feelies here in philly so i'll see them on the 13th, and then i'll go to dc for the moz on the 14th.

Oh good - it will be nice to see you. I'm not a super fan, but I may be working this show. If so, I can see if I have an extra ticket...
-
I've seen Morrissey a buncha times...the Feelies never tour. It's a no brainer for me.
-
I'll let sweetcell do an assessment of the Feelies' set opening for Sonic Youth...but I thought they were just OK. I hope they don't charge $25.
-
I want to see both but given I've never seen Morrissey I'll be at the Warner Theatre.
-
per joe's request: the feelies, opening for SY this summer, weren't that great. they sounded very "same-y", we joked that they had two songs and played them for an hour. decent, jangly punk-pop. now i'm not a feelies fan and i have no emotional attachment to the music so YMMV. there were definitely a lot of people eating it up at the show, but i have no need to see them again.
-
Has anyone heard about a presale for this show? The LiveNation site isn't showing anything and I didn't get any emails from anywhere.
-
Feelies here as well.
-
i'm bummed that these shows are on the same night because i'd really like to see the feelies ... but come on people.
-
Don't forget the bulk of the Feelies' stuff is out of print except for "Only Life". I think most people don't even know "Crazy Rhythms", which is an incredible record, WAY ahead of its time. I know, the old fart is sounding off again...but I think the Feelies at 9:30 will be a really good show.
By the way, the Feelies are playing in Philly. Anyone been to Johnny Brenda's or whatever the venue there is called? Thoughts?

co-sign
only thing making me waver is that $60+fees is a lot of change, especially with the pogues a few days later at a similar price

I thought of you for this show...perhaps I'll see you tonight and I'll fill you in...

anyone else unable to pull any tickets?

anyone else unable to pull any tickets?
Only allowing quantity of 1 now.
-
30% of ticket price for convenience charges???
-
that was some bullshit, kept getting error messages as i pulled tickets until 10:10 or so.
ended up with orchestra level row Q, right on the middle aisle... could be worse (first few rows of the lower price point), but i'd have liked to have been up front
-
You need to reject the bad tix you get and keep refreshing for better options. I started @ 10 and ended up w/ Orch C Row BB @ 10:25. They're distributed in no discernable order.
-
yeah, i just pulled a row K... not worth it at this point to sell these and move up a few rows, oh well...
-
Yeah - I just pulled-up Row J at 10:33. Keep trying.
-
Ticket sites for seated shows are a joke. It's a gamble when you want to accept the tix and not try again for something better. It wasn't even letting me look for the expensive ones at first. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel/dinner option for that area? I'm considering making it a date weekend for me and the wife.

just pulled a row J also, but at the lower-price point... i thought it was $60 from AA-M?
-
Yeah, $57 and change but closer to $75 after all the charges. I haven't been to any shows this winter, so I had a little extra to spend.
-
I settled for Row P. Just went in and pulled Row F. Ah well.
-
I just pulled orch C, row A...damn...what to do...
-
I just realized this show is the same night as the Big East Tournament Championship... hopefully I'll have to sell my morrissey tickets
-
i got row x and it wouldnt give me any more. i settled but i am pissed nonethe less. i wish the site hadnt ben broken, and to be fair i did have to buy six tickets together.
you selling your tickets?
