Paul Oakenfold?
...at least its not Tiesto or Paul Van Dyk
If they had to have an old school big name DJ/electronic act at least make it somewhat decent.
The Prodigy, Goldie, Carl Cox are still around.
Simian Mobile Disco, Pendulum, or Bookashade would've been more relevant.

What a dreary line-up with a bunch of repeats from when I went to years ago and even sorrier than lasts years... I can honestly say there is only one "must see" band on that bill for me and that's the Beastie Boys, some nice to see but certainly not worth the time, effort, money and dealing with trustippies to attend

You're turning into an old curmudgeon.
If I lived in TN, I'd totally go.

sorry phish, but you sure picked a shitty year to play. bruce? wtf is he doing there? snoop dogg? beastie boys? what festival is this by the way?
-
I'll be going back this year, I think.
-
incredible lineup...thinking of going just for the experience :)
-
I really thought the line-up was going to be worse than last years, but this looks awesome. Bonnaroo finally got back on the right track. There are several bands I'd love to see, especially two Phish shows. This is much better than Coachella's first wager. Who wants to carpool?

You're turning into an old curmudgeon.
does that makes doomie a meta-curmudgeon?
-
The line up made my mind up for me, time to do the Roo again. I do agree that a few of the choices are weird, Snoop, etc, but they are no less weird than last year's Kanye/Chris Rock/Pearl Jam/Metallica/Jack Johnson. I was suprised to not see MMJ on there. Hopefully they will announce later on.
-
perhaps this year they should just call the thing the "tennessee v-festival." there are 90 percent indie acts playing anyway. and seth's v fest can have the dead, dark star o., moe., disco biscuits, etc... as the top acts. then metallica and slayer can headline jazz fest, and ringo plus flava flav can do a bluegrass festy at telluride. way to bite off perry's original lollapalooza, bonaboob, and finally prove it is time to shut the factory doors.

All levels of tickets except the most expensive are already sold out. I knew i shouldnt have slept in past noon today. Oh well, Im going regardless.
-
the cheaper ones were gone way before regular tickets went on sale. They were gone during the presale.

I meant the cheaper of the non presale tickets, the ones that went on sale Saturday. Of the three levels of tickets that went on sale Saturday, only the most expensive were left over after less than an hour. That was all I was trying to say.

When did V-fest lineup come out last year? May?
-
an on-going complaint about v-fest is how late they wait before publishing the line-up. i don't remember, but i'm pretty sure it wasn't out by may (maybe a headliner or two, but certainly not the whole thing).
if you're hoping to attract out-of-towners, you need to get on their schedules ASAP so they can plan (and not commit to other destination festivals). i suspect VFest lost a number of potential attendees to APW (same weekend) which released its line-up long before.
i assume delays in the past have been caused by waiting for one headliner to sign on. festivals generally want to advertise all big names during the first line-up announcement, in order to maximize the impact of the initial media blitz.

i think it is safe to think hollywood undead is playing.
-
Definitely with a better set time than last years opening, I would imagine.
-
Phoenix and William Eliott Whitmore added! nice... ;D

yeah the exclusion of a-list electronic acts/DJ's seem to be obvious, except for the headliners, the rest of the lineup seems predictable and stale.

The Wilco/Mars Volta/Elvis Costello conflict makes Mr.Whippy sad.
