Post by: otbguy on March 27, 2009, 08:22:12 pm
Hi everyone!! I posted in the ticket xchange forum looking for 2 AAR tickets for the 4/28 show. So I have had no luck here YET ;) BUT I typed it in google and this came up: http://cgi.ebay.com/1-6-Tickets-All-American-Rejects-4%2F28%2F09-_W0QQitemZ250388817726QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090313?IMSfp=TL090313134002r33476 (http://cgi.ebay.com/1-6-Tickets-All-American-Rejects-4%2F28%2F09-_W0QQitemZ250388817726QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090313?IMSfp=TL090313134002r33476) Isn't this against 930 Club rules?? Isn't this extortion??? Truth be told, if they even just doubled the price I would have paid for it, BUT they went past triple the price...SMH

extortion always involves a written or verbal threat

Is there a written or verbal threat going on? If not, then it's not extortion. Just a freemarket capitalist trying to capitalize on bad musical taste.

No, it's not extortion because your are not forced to buy. It's just a routine swindle. The concert ticket system is a total racket and if you don't get ahead of it by being on pre-sale notification lists and hooked up with your favorite bands for inside information, you will end up paying these huge price mark ups.

Isn't this against 930 Club rules??

the club has a strong anti-scalping stance, but there isn't anything the club can do in this case.   ebay certainly isn't going to pull this listing at anyone request unless it's illegal - which in this case it doesn't appear to be.

Isn't this against 930 Club rules??
Unless the person is selling the tickets on 930 Club property or through this website, then 930 Club's rules are worthless. It's against the rules for women to show their forearm in Afghanistan, but that has zero effect on what happens in Azerbaijan.
