Title: weird musical morning
Post by: sweetcell on March 31, 2009, 10:16:19 am
towards the end of my commute this morning, my usual sources of radio tunage were boring me so i started crusin' up and down the dial.  stumbled on a country station's "bluegrass morning show".  first up was "kentucky waltz" with a heart-wrenching vocal performance on it... i'm not even from kentucky and it made me homesick for the bluegrass state.  it gave me a big lump in my throat.

next up was... a bluegrass version of van halen's "jamie's crying", sung by none other than david lee roth himself.  gave me a big WTF in my head. apparently it's from a self-tribute called ?Strummin' With the Devil? (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13154158/).

on the upside, today can't get any weirder.

we can all look forward to Monday when 94.7 changes format again, this time to soft rock a la 97.1/107.3. I'm telling you Peter Cetera fans are PSYCHED

I'm holding my breath that the venerable JACK 102.7 isn't flipped by its new Clear Channel owners tonight...what will I do without the 9 at 9? (This morning: 9 songs from 1990, including the Bel Biv Devoe song that wasn't Poison)...

Sweet April Fools joke.

More musical chairs: 106.7 will become WHFS on Monday and will allegedly let DJs pick their own songs.  If it's any good, I hope venue owners like Seth will support it with advertising

it's worse than soft rock, it's "fresh" top 40 <reaches for barf bag>

did Big 100 recently become more of a classic rock station recently?

That's an oxymoron for morons.

Edbert's comment cracked me up!

I've always called that kind of music 'music for dentist offices'. That's the kind of crap they love to play. You never know what's worse, the music or the root canal!
