If the presale sold out does this mean that the presale *allotment* sold out and remaining tix go on sale during the soft sale period or that *all* tickets sold out?

In most cases there is a presale allotment, meaning a portion of the tickets, available while in presale mode. Generally the rest of the tickets are released when the show is on soft or regular sale.
