From the Washington Post:
An annual day of service that rehabilitates District schools while raising money for scholarships, Hands on DC is a fantastic charity (and a good way to meet people, too, if you know what we mean). The group holds fundraising happy hours throughout the year, and tonight it's passing the hat in Cafe Saint-Ex's Gate 54 Lounge to pay for paint, tools and other supplies needed for the May 1 "work-a-thon." Find out more between 6 and 9; a $5 donation puts your name down for the raffle.
