Just read this, details are few...

This would definately explain how Semin got so big and mean.
-
weird that he singles out the caps and nats. i figured the nats couldnt afford juicers
-
If the Nats allegations are true his product must not be very good (well actually their bats, esp the first half of the order are pretty damned good). Maybe he needs to sell to the pitching staff, esp the bullpen.
The whole thing sounds fishy though...I mean the guy live in florida, gets arrested, boasts that he's the biggest roid dealer in central florida, and then calls out teams in DC as his bigges customers?
If their are Caps players involved, i'm just hoping it's Nylander and Fleishmann ;D
Not that I'm hoping they are involved of course...
-
well...if we're going to jump to conclusions on the caps...russians love florida
-
It's definately early to jump to conclusions, though that won't stop people from doing so unfortunately.

No chance that this is legit.

I hope so....
"We have no reason to believe there is any merit to this story, but the National Hockey League and the Washington Capitals take all such allegations seriously. Capitals players have fully participated in the NHL?s random drug testing program, and at no point has a Capitals player tested positive. In addition our players have been tested at international events, such as World Championships and Olympics. We welcome and will fully cooperate with the NHL?s investigation."
- Dick Patrick, Washington Capitals president (via press release)

If anyone, Semin.

I was joking about Semin being big and mean, btw.

My comment was completely unrelated to yours. Not all steroid use is to add muscle mass.

I figured...Semin's actually a decent sized guy, but hardly mean. I could see players in the NHL using HGH for recovery times between games, plus it can't really be tested against like steroids. Who knows what's going to come of this.
So far a pretty active offseason for the Caps...3 guys possibly headed to the KHL, one assistant coach leaving based on a "mutual" decision, a potentially brewing 'roids scandal, and our farm team in the Calder Cup finals.

You don't hear enough about musicians using 'roids. Danzig -- probably. Rollins -- maybe (although it was more likely those five-hour iron pumping sessions while tripping daily). How about Springsteen? I mean there's got to be a lot of pressure to maintain those 3+ hour shows to stay a step ahead of the younger performers. How does he do it? "Nutritional supplements"?

Definately Danzig, and at some point maybe Henry - don't know if you've seen him lately but he's not as cartoonishly big as he used to be. And I'm pretty sure he's always been straight so I don't know about the daily tripping bit. I wonder if 'roids defy the straight edge edict?
-
and at no point has a Capitals player tested positive.
is "a Capitals" the correct usage here?

i remember reading an article a while back about hip hop artists using 'roids... makes sense, given how ripped some of those guys look. i mean, i know pimpin' ain't easy... but it's not THAT hard.
