I'm in...

My neighbors are going. Say hi to them...they're skipping our weekly Friday Night doggie Happy Hour for it.
-
I was torn about this, but decided not to go. Have fun and let the rest of the class know how they did without Layne.

There.

In. Can't wait.
Was very much against the idea of them reforming but my brother saw them in Orlando on the last tour and he was floored. The new songs only reinforce that missing them this time was out of the question.

I'm there.
I saw them in 2006 at Rams Head in Baltimore. They put on an awesome show! They played over 2 hours I think. They even did a cool unplugged segment in the middle, playing maybe 4 songs.
I wonder how many new songs they'll play. I've heard two of their new songs, and they're not too good in my opinion. Hopefully we'll hear some other new songs that haven't been on the radio yet. Why do so many bands tour before their new CD is released? :(

Valenshek? Are you Vansmack's Russian cousin?

if you're serious about attending this show, go to the club. the chances of finding someone looking to unload an extra out on the sidewalk are very high - almost guaranteed. just ask around or hold a finger in the air... staph will ensure that tickets are re-sold at cost only.

This was fantastic.

It was LOUD.
Sound was great, though.

While the band sounded good and I generally like the new singer (saw him play with Cantrell at 9:30 in the early 00's) I just couldn't get into seeing them play as Alice In Chains. The songs (albeit mostly written by Jerry) were just too closely associated with Staley for me to indulge someone else singing them - I felt similarly when I saw the Doors of the 21st Century at 9:30 a couple years ago and I left both shows early. I'm glad this AIC was only $25 and not $40 like last time. Will I pick up the new record? Yeah. Will I seem them again on tour? Nah.

Totally different vibe with the new guy. Unfortunately they'll never be able to recreate what they had with Layne.
