well that was a clusterf*ck. presale didn't start until at least 10:08 for me, i was able to pull up crappy Sec O tickets before getting the "sold out" message on the next and subsequent tries.
any truth to the rumor of a second show on 12/1?
-
I think it was announced in the last flyer as two dates. I tried, couldn't get anything that good, but that's probably for the best. Too pricey for my blood...plus, I was row F last time, so it probably won't get better than that.

I pulled orch mm but threw them back. I think i was in like f or g for the last show. at this price didn't want to shell it out unless the seats were amazing.
-
you're right! just noticed the december 1st date on the flyer.
hopefully i can score orchestra seats and get rid of my SEC-C tickets.
-
Thought I snagged row L floor, turns out it was row L section L.... furthest away section in second to last row..... what a joke.... was debating buying the row L floor, would have NEVER bought what I did had I know. I guess I need to learn to read....
-
G*D D*MNIT!! I got nothing!
10:56am edit: I just got Sect. P, Row N. ... so, g*d d*mnit! I'll try to do better tomorrow.
-
the presales aren't always the best let's see what we all pull on friday then we can start yelling ;D
-
I was only going for a single, I pulled orchestra Row D. I lucked out.
-
First I managed to pull up Orchestra Row JJ, but Ticketmaster stalled out on me. Managed to get Section T.
-

It didn't start until 10:08 for me either. Got a Sec C
-
looks like the system is slowly releasing tickets... but they've all been CRAP. i'm on a booooooooooring phone call so i've been pulling on and off since the presale started. other than Orch JJ (fifth from the back), i've gotten nothing but Sec J, K, L, M or N... i.e. the very back of the room. as far as i can tell, this presale is meant to sell off the bad seats.
edit: i just got section P ::)
-
might skip this as i saw them 5 times last tour...
-
started late for me too. had good seats but in my half awake state i ended up putting them back. only crap seats left so no go for me. may try tomorrow.
-
I'll be in the front row with my back to the band flipping all of you off the whole show.
-
Wow that was fast
-
I got a ORCH Row C ;D
oh yeah 68 freaking bucks with charges :o
-
Orch E, woohoo
-
WHAT.
THE.
FUCK.
first pull: sec L, row N: last row at the back of the hall. second pull: Sec A, aka side-view of stage. third pull: no tickets available. all this BEFORE 10:02 (might even have been before 10:01).
i call bullshit. they're only releasing the crap tickets.
-
anyone know how the seats are numbered?
-
yeah I was using two computers my laptop and a desk computer was able to pull the orch on my laptop and on the desk at 1001 it said no tickets available
-
i'm still pulling tickets
-

-
i'm still pulling tickets
i'm consistently getting "no tickets match my request", despite asking for 2 tickets, best available. maybe i've been somehow flagged as someone who requests too many tickets? whatever. i'm not worried about getting in to this show. guaranteed to be plenty floating around.
-
i've only been looking for a single and really jsut for kicks. I got a orch row a seat on the very very end. probably would have kept it if it was more in the middle
-
Anybody know what the asterisk means when Ticketmaster describes your seats? I got Section B*, Row J.
-
obstructed view :-[

They released somewhere, there are PLENTY of orch tix on stubhub

g*d d*mnit!
-
*potentially* obstructed view - depends how they set up the PA. you'll have a side-view of the stage, but at least you'll be very close. see http://dar.org/pics/conthall/seatchrtbig.gif
-
great, just great I looked back at my order and my orch has the asterik too :o
ok so looking at the seating chart does it mean my seat is on the right side 4th seat
ORCH*, row C, seat 7? I don't see how this section could be obstructed hmm ::)
-
that means you are gonna watch the speakers, not the band.

-
well your seat is near the end...i sat there during Ryan Adams and fell asleep. They should have at least made that seat $40 cheaper...HAHA!

great, just great

This was ridiculous...never have I seen it THAT tough to get orchestra seats at DAR during a general sale. I am sure the scalpers had a field day with this one.
-
good thing there is a second show on 12/01. i don't think demand will be that high for these shows, it's my belief that scalpers will be stuck with a lot of tickets that they won't be able to see at a mark-up. yeah for below-face day-of tickets!!!
-
When might the second show go on sale, next Friday?
-
I wasn't even able to pull anything. Ridiculous. What's this about a 12/1 show?
-
true! people should just buy tickets day of show when it's buyer's market! that's what I"ll do.

By my calculations, there are about 290 tickets on stubhub for sale. That doesn't include Craigslist...is that pretty typical for the average DAR show? I can't but help but feel that Ticketbastard released a bunch of these tickets directly to Stubhub. I love how they have tickets for the Aragon already, and there hasn't even been a presale for those shows yet.
-
This is a conspiracy and not that whole silly demand > supply thing! Oh and that Aragon show is GA.

anyone can post anything for sale on stubhub, whether they actually have the tickets or not. by posting a ticket for sale that they don't own, the scalper is saying "trust me, i can get this ticket". often they belong to a network of scalpers so they have lots of people to call on to get the ticket(s). also, the terms of sale on stubhub and other resellers state that you are guaranteed that ticket or something better. so if the scalper can't get row F for you, he might send you row E instead. other things to keep in mind is that the same ticket can be listed twice. and all-GA shows, like the aragon, are always going to be listed early - getting a GA ticket isn't a problem, all tickets are the same & no need to list a row number.
MORAL OF THE STORY: # tickets on stubhub don't mean a thang. don't get your shorts in a knot over it because the number is meaningless.
-
Oh thanks so much...very informative. That being said, I still think it stinks.
And FYI, I didn't think I was being overly negative. My shorts are perfectly fine, thanks.
-
no no, bearman, you were being perfectly reasonable. sorry, i my short-knotting comment wasn't directed at you, at all. several times in the past people have pointed to stubhub or CL as "proof" that the ticketing agency, the promoter or the venue is in cahoots with the scalpers. my point was this isn't proof at all.
and yes, it still stinks.
-
Does anyone else remember that people were GIVING AWAY extra tickets outside DAR last time they played?? There were that many extras floating around! I have a feeling that tickets will be available outside for face if not cheaper..
-
yup, that's what i'm banking on (see my previous post, 6th on second page). given that there are two shows, there will almost certainly be extras available as the date nears.
-
managed to get two sec U row A seat 8...They could either be amazing or pretty obstructed...ANybody know for sure??
--- i do agree there should be a ton of cheap ones later, and I probably should have waited in hindsight
-

all depends on where they place the PA. if they hang it from the ceiling, then you'll be fine. if they put the stacks on the corners of the stage or floor, you might partially be looking at speakers instead of the whole band.
-
I hope that they set it up from the ceiling or I will be great, just great when I'm at the concert ;D
-
i got orch m!
wonder what kind of seats the fanclub managed to get.
-
Orchestra C. w00t!
-
Orchestra A, for AWESOME.
-
Orchestra C as well!
-
Ummmm....just heard something that is a downer. In Dublin the other night they played the LP, the b-sides and NOTHING else. About an hour long. Yikes. I hope they'll add some more stuff to the setlist. Talk about taking the money and running.

yup, they did. But isn't that exactly what the show is being billed as?
-
Well, typically bands add more songs to the setlist when play a whole LP and that's what is advertised. For example, Springsteen has been doing "Born to Run" shows and he'll play a lot more stuff other than the LP. I saw Black Francis twice this summer, one show was 2 1/2 hours the other was over 3 hours. It's not like the guy can't do a very full performance...I'm just kind of surprised, that's all.
-
Only playing Doolittle straight through should have been a sweet excuse for a club tour . . . seems very weird for big venues and the $60 tab
-
Glasgow got all of Come On Pilgrim as the second encore.
-
Oh GOD...NOW we're talking!!!! That would be spectacular!
-
Now that's awesome! Come On Pilgrim as an encore!
And another :D at the 200+ tickets sitting on ebay and stubhub right now. I hope to god mostly everybody got their tickets already. There would be pockets of empty seats all over the orchestra but knowing scalpers are eating $70 per ticket would make the night even better.
-
I'm perfectly happy with my 4th and front row seats for the 1st and 2nd nights respectively. I'm sure scalpers will eat shit on these. Good.
