Snowden wrote me and sent me a copy of their EP. Their not bad...hazy effects-laden indie rock. Tv on the Radio-ish, thoguh not as good. I may catch them in my travels tomorrow.
I find just checking out their sites in my free time is a way to learn about new bands...course, I don't have any free time anymore.

Yeah, their internet sites help, but I at least need some kind of heads up so I can prioritize on whom to do some 'research' on....can't look 'em all up.

Gosh, you know, the nice thing about the Galaxy Hut is that you don't have to pay a cover to see a band you've never heard of... that and you can hit on the band members after the show at the bar.

I've heard The Sparrow a good while ago but can't remember a thing about them. (Assuming it's the same band.) I think I didn't like them but can't even remember that for sure. A few others I've heard of but really know nothing about them.

Just came back from DC9. Don't have much to say about Snowden or Two If By Sea, but the bar itself is a great place to hang out at. Good to see a quality venue.

Damn, wish I knew you were going...they wrote me and asked me to go. I could have had you talk to them. You don't have anything to say about them?

I only caught the last song of Two if by Sea. What I heard was New Wave inspired with a Punky edge. I didn't hear anything of Snowden's.
Quite an evening though for such a spur of the moment decision. I went to an opening at the Corcoran and then headed on over to DC9. I feel so... metropolitan.

Pansy Division (http://www.pansydivision.com) - Queercore. Fun punk. Good band. I'll be at this one. If you have a problem with guys singing about sucking dick, you'll wanna skip it.
The Phobes (http://www.phobes.com) - garage rock. I like "Poverty Jetset" a lot, but wasn't that impressed the one time I saw them live. I'd go see them again, but I don't know if 'd sit through 5 other bands first.
