What can 9:30 do to stop Ticket Hoarding??
Am I the only one fan who has experienced this? People buy bulk tickets from 9:30 and then re-sell them on craigslist / ebay for twice as much ?

OMG R U SRS?!?

Nope. You're the only one.
Here is the owner of the clubs stance on scalping (search is your friend):

ok read that thread...all that came out of that discussion was squirrel nuts..
They should put a 2 ticket limit for each individual...that should help

we've been through this many times before, you can use the search function to look up the numerous debates.
for very popular shows - the ones that sell out in a minute or two - such protections are often put in place. some shows have gone as far as being will-call only, meaning that the person who bought the tickets must pick them up at the show then immediately walk in. zero chance of re-selling.
but this is overkill for 98% of the shows at the club, it's expensive, and it's inconvenient. why should the vast majority of folks have to pay extra, and jump through extra hoops, to stop a small minority? why treat everyone like a scalper when they aren't? ticket limits and will-call only rules only make sense sometimes... AKA rarely.

Is this how TWO Guster shows sold out?
I think I've met one person, IN MY WHOLE LIFE, who was a Guster fan. and that was nearly 10 years ago.

Who sets the ticket limit? Is it the venue, the artist, record company booking agent, flight attendant?

go to craigslist now and search for arctic monkeys..you will find a bunch of people selling 5 or more tickets for about 85 each...one of the ads has this phone number to call back
I guess this will continue till someone files a police complaint and have them handle this...according to DC law black marketing or hoarding is a crime...so to say that we cant do anything about it..is not acceptable.
-
I'm sure DC police detectives will be on that right away.

Hilarious, you know scalping is perfectly legal in DC, yes?
