Coming from one of the 9:30 Elders, I couldn't tell you. Apparently, I haven't reached that point yet.

But I'm sure that Rhett has all of the answers.

I saw Alice Cooper there last year... by far my favorite venue especially if you do the lawn seating thing as you can bring your cooler in with you.  That should be exciting at any age!

The Wolf Trap line-up has always been very eclectic. It's a beautiful place to go... The Mark Knopfler show last year was one of my favorites of 2005. Simply incredible.

WT is the best amphitheater in the area. Fairly small (prob about 10,000 people at the most), and you can bring in a cooler with food and booze if you've got lawn tix. No screens or anything but bring some binocs and you're fine. As for the line-up yeah it's for the 40+ crowd generally. But this year they've got the Fiona / Damien Rice concert, that should appeal to the 20/30-somethings. Not much else this summer too exciting, though I'll be there for Blondie on 6/6 and BB King on 6/19. And sometime you'll get a real surprise, i.e. last summer's Brian Wilson show was unexpectedly superb. Also Knopfler and Alice Cooper/Cheap Trick last summer were great. For a $25 lawn seat, on a warm summer night, you can't beat WT. Just get there fairly early to snag a decent spot on the lawn And hope it doesn't rain.

Is it true that if you're a 45 year old plus lesbian driving a new Beetle or any model year Subaru you get a 50% discount to all shows?

Is just an outdoor version of the Shushmere really isn't it?

Wolftrap os a great venue. Nothing on the lineup this year to bother with, yet.

Agreed. A good lineup could vary year to year.

Isn't Elvis Costello coming to Wolf Trap this summer?  He was great there last year...

So is Jewel. I wonder which of the two looks better naked?

Like I said, nothing on the lineup to bother with, yet. Maybe they'll add something good.

In college.  They had a triple bill of The Violent Femmes, The Pogues with Mojo Nixon and Skid Roper (just them) opening.  Mojo worked that place, he worked it well.

I work part time in the box office there.  On the first day of ticket onsale, this lady comes to my window "wow, the lineup this year really sucks!"...and then proceeds to buy tickets for like 10 shows...it must not have sucked that bad.

I think the draw of Wolftrap for a lot of people is the venue.  Its a great place to spend a summer evening, having a beer outdoors listening to music.  And i've only been shushed there once, and it was during an NSO performance...which, you know, you really shouldn't be running your mouth during anyways.

and i get excited whenever Lyle Lovett is on the schedule there.  One of my fave shows at the Trap.  I used to get excited over Elvis Costello there, but his show last year was a real snoozer.
