Ok kids
so i am making a CD and its called "On the Radio" and its a trick sorta, so it has to be slick. see?
every song needs to say "on the radio" in it somewhere, but i dont want it in the title. except "On the Radio" by regina spektor will be last (or first, i am not sure)
heres what i have so far.
1. Counting Crows - Have You Seen Me Lately
2. Miley Cyrus - Party In The USA
3. Bowling for Soup - 1985
4. Starsailor - In The Crossfire
5. Tain - Hey, Soul Sister
6. Ben Lee - Catch My Disease
so thats 7 so far, i really want 14 at LEAST.
it really doesnt matter what style of music, but i just dont want the person to be able to figure out the connection between the songs by looking at a tracklisting.
cool?
go!

Donna Summer's "on the radio" is so much better unless you making this for a chick. And that's ghey.
-
real quick off the top of my head
We R in Need of a Musical Revolution - Esthero (lyric is I'm so sick and tired of the shit on the radio)
Shit on the Radio (clean version was ...On the Radio)- Nelly Furtado (maybe a bookend to Regina's song?)
-
thanks smackie, it does happen to be for a chick.
i might check into the Donna Summer song, i just love that Regina song alot.
i also cant believe i forgot
Our Lady Peace - Somewhere Out There
silly canadian!
-
R.E.M. "RADIO SONG"
-
Replacements - Left of the Dial
Modern Lovers - Roadrunner ("GOT THE RADIO ON!!", close enough, right?)
-
definitely needs to say "on the radio"
i know its picky.
yes, good on the replacements!
i just got
White Stripes - Icky Thump
New Pornographers - Mass Romantic.
i think i have 10 now.

I can't believe I'm going to even own up to knowing this (and especially considering my only motivation is to help out someone who has a Blink 182 reference in their username) but Signals Over The Air by Thursday.
Goddamn.
-
its sonick. jules. (and thanks!)

its sonick. jules.
First of all, can no one who gets banned or storms off in a huff just stay gone?
Second, the only way you could've been more ridiculous was adding a blink-182 reference to your user name upon returning.
-
i am pretty much gone jules. and it was before the Vfest and i was in a surly mood.
dont worry, i dont plan to be in drama of the day to day forum, just on the occasion.
but its nice to knwo you're still a jerk!

Agreed. Easily one of the best tracks of the year. Her recent, mind-boggling, attempts to distance herself from the song are really disappointing.
-
i cant agree about it being awesome. it drives me insane actually. but the cd recipient has always been known for saying "like, yeah" so it was a perfect fit.

Reading this, I'm reminded of the scene in High Fidelity where Rob is making the comp tape for the reporter while Laura is moving back in:
Anyway,
I worked hard at this one.
INT. ROB AND LAURA'S APARTMENT - DAY
Rob sits Indian-style on the floor in front of the stereo.
He has a pad of paper with scrawled titles and cross-outs,
and is surrounded by piles of CDs and records.
LAURA
Who's that for?
Rob winces, turns. He's busted.
ROB
This? Oh, just that woman who
interviewed me for The Reader.
Carol? Caroline? Something like
that.
Laura turns and walks out of the room.

this scene is always a good one too
