In order to keep the stampede out of the Just Announced thread
Just Announced! Muse w/Silversun PIckups - M 3/1 - GMU Patriot Center - Tix on sale F 12/11 at 10a
I'll be keeping comments on this show to myself ::)
-
Offsides on wml7 or FAIL or not great, just not great
-
Has their been any word yet on ticket prices?
-
I've heard they're way overpriced. Not in the way of "wow those tickets are expensive" but more along the lines of "I have to pay that to see THEM?"
Has their been any word yet on ticket prices?
-
Last time I saw them when they played the patriot center I think last year or so it was like 50 bucks for a seat not sure how much GA was. ;D
-
Has their been any word yet on ticket prices?
Word is that you're gonna get screwed on the fees.
-
I'll be keeping comments on this show to myself ::)
Ditto.
-
Is this a tour that will also make its way out west?
-
Will it be a half house with a GA floor like their last show there or?
-
Per the email blast there is now a create your own Muse video contest running. Me thinks that based on our collective indifference for this show some of us could come up with a killer vid, I'm thinking DAT machine... Of course if The Director enters we're all screwed
-
I paid 60$ all together for floor seats last time they were at gmu. Any word on pre sale?
-
Do most people not like Muse here?
-
Im a fan. The new cd was worth the purchase price, and I have been thinking about paying whatever priceto see them, within reason.
-
As soon as it hits dc101 , they suck. Muse is worth almost any price, they're one of the best live shows today.
-

For it being only three people they put on a hell of a show and the light effects are pretty cool too. A must see if you have never seen them ;D
-
It's more indifference to me than anything else.
Nothing against them.

ah, that makes sense. i guess. i couldn't figure out what the hate was all about, now it appears it's not hate. cool.

speak for yourself there, buddy. i'm totally psyched - this is a great line-up. muse's opening set for that other-guilty-pleasure-band was a total teaser, and sspu's latest release is one of my albums of the year. this show has the potential to be show-of-the-year for me.
some of us could come up with a killer vid, I'm thinking DAT machine...
and what would you do if you actually won? you'd have tickets to a show you don't wanna go to! you could always give them away to a fan of the band, like, say, i dunno... me? that would be great, just great ;D
-

(note to self trying to be pithy in a hurry via one's iPhone doesn't always work)
by collective indifference I was thinking me, az and nkotb.... the rest of y'all can attend the show guilt free, me i'll be home with a new collection of voodoo dolls...
-

This sums up my thoughts....
-
Looks like ticketmaster answered most of my question with their listing. Endstage show with GA floor, pre-sale is Thursday at 10AM and tickets are $55.

55$ for GA? Anyone like to give me the password? :)
-
I pulled up two GA but have a hard time paying that much to see these two bands...plus fees of 8.50 per ticket...two tix = $127
I just can't do it. meh.
-
All tix for the Muse presale this morning are all gone in under 3 minutes:
https://tix.concertmaps.com/muse/ (https://tix.concertmaps.com/muse/)
I didn't luck out, will try the presale tomorrow (says it's a 9:30 presale, I'm assuming the password will be in the next email).
-
Wow, that was fast. Better have a quick trigger finger tomorrow and/or Friday. I think $65 is fair for the show they put on.
-
I was on there right away and got the option to buy some GA tickets, but I want real seats so I let them go... hopefully will get some seats tomorrow with the 930 club presale.
-
$127 would buy a really nice vibrator.
I'm just sayin'.
-
I love Muse ... been a fan ever since Showbiz.
Their set with U2 was FAR to short.
Tried to get the presale today, but no such luck. And I was on early. WAAAAAAH.
How does one get to take advantage of the 9:30 club presale tomorrow? Just by being a forum member and signed up to the email list?
Thanks!
-
I had 4 tickets up but they were GA Floor so I passed on them, last time they had a GA floor allotment which took a day to sell then it went to reserved seating, no such luck this time I think they only had floor seats for sale.
-
So it turns out that 4 GA tickets are still in my cart at concertmaps. I'll release them at 10:50 EST because I want actual seats and to give people time to read this. I don't know if it will let the tickets go back to the public to be bought again, but hopefully it will and one of you can get them if you want them!
Good luck!
-
uh, presale tix are available right now - i pulled some up a second ago.
i'm just sayin'.
EDIT: and now i'm not sayin'. looks like it's sold out again.
EDIT2: and now i'm sayin' again. looks like they're slowly releasing tickets. just keep refreshing, some should show up eventually.
-
And I'm the dumbass that accidently put four tickets in her shopping cart when I only needed two. When tried to edit and refresh cart, guess what, tickets all gone again. GAAAAAAh! Can't a gal ever win? And I'm wondering if I should just suck it up and wait for actual seats?!
-
Seats are slowly coming online. Just pulled Section 130, Row D - so keep refreshing. Hope this helps folks looking for seats.
-
I just bought my tickets. Yay. Floor tickets, but hey ... that much closer ...
-
Is this a tour that will also make its way out west?
currently the closest date is SLC: April 5, 2010 @ The E Center, Salt Lake City, UT
but according to this sspu page (http://silversunpickups.com/news/sspu-join-muse-2010-us-tour/), "Additional dates to be announced Mon, December 14th. Stay tuned."
fingers crossed.
-
is tomorrows presale on tickets.com??? Any boardie want to point me in the right direction with password if one is needed ;D

Why the fuck would you put sold out on your site and then release more later? Fucking dumbasses.

People throw tickets back... Credit cards don't go through. There's always drops for big shows.

They didn't offer reserved seats for the 3 minutes that they were originally available but judging by some of the posts they released some later and that's what I have an issue with.
-
i can think of several reasons why they'd do that.
the system can't handle too many orders at once. solution: space out the orders by spacing out ticket availability.
the band/management/promoter told them to do this. they want to reward perseverance and dedication.
presale organizers want to ensure that music snobs have something to bitch about on bboards (their surcharges are too low to warrant the usual ranting).
etc.

Probably your last suggestion HAHA
-
My plan is to wait until the last minute, send out a flurry of emails asking if anyone has an extra, neglect to follow up on any replies, and then bitch and moan about surcharges and fees the day of.
-
hope they add another show so there will be a glut of tickets like the Pixies shows. That's the only way I got it for $9.
-

it's been a while since i stated that i heart relaxer, so here goes: i heart relaxer.
-
thanks bud
also, I prefer aisle seats
-
Now it's a DC101 presale...uhh...ok.
-
anyone got the skinny on the DC101 presale?
on the muse board, someone wrote that he was told that there isn't "going to be a code of any sort. He told me as far as he's concerned, on the DC 101 website there will be a link in the morning. So once you click on that link you should be taken care of and be ready to order the tickets."
but that doesn't sound right - i've never heard of DC101 having an "open", non-password-protected presale.
if i manage to get decent seats, i'll have 2 floors for sale. a PM asking for them before i decide they're for sale will put you at the bottom of the list.
thanks bud
also, I prefer aisle seats
does this mean i should get you a ticket? would be happy to hook you up!
-
Got an email this morning from DC101, password was Uprising. Kept retrying and eventually got a decent pair someone tossed back.
-
got me Sec 114, row AA ;D
-
117 Row G, thank god for my friends GF actually subscribing to DC101's emails HAHA
-
didn't get on at 10 for this did they have floor for this presale?
-
didn't get on at 10 for this did they have floor for this presale?
I specifically selected concourse so I'm not sure.
-
yeah seats are still there but no floor I'll try tomorrow ;D
-
Work got in the way, so I wasn't on at 10:00. I guessed the password on the my third try, but no GA floor left. I'll try again tomorrow and hope they've kept some GA floor in reserve for the public sale.
-
someone texted me complaining that he was on at 10:00 sharp and they had no floors available in the DC101 presale - it was seats only.
i suspect there will be plenty of GAs available tomorrow morning.
-
yay, I bet Kosmo is happy to hear that right Kosmo ;D
-
a pic from one of their shows, less than a month ago - i hope we get this stage show:

That's great! It's like they're gods looking down on the pitiful mortals who dare bought tickets for their show ;D

It definitely screams for a Spinal Tap-like malfunction doesn't it? haha
-
Anybody have Osama's number?
-
That explains the $55 tickets.
Looks really cool but if I were one of them, I would have this constant anxiety about my upper level collapsing on me.
In the tradition of Spinal Tap, we all know that it would be the drummer who has the mishap.
The set works really well with their new single, especially if you know something about their views.
-
yay, I bet Kosmo is happy to hear that right Kosmo ;D
sure thing it's great seeing people forking over $55 + Service fees, when they could walked up to the boxoffice last and spent $15 for a top notch show. Plus the words amazing light show implies the band is covering up for certain shortcomings.
-
it also means that sweetcell is guaranteed to be there ;D

-
Anybody have Osama's number?
Dick Cheney
-
are they going to have that setup for the Patriot Center??
-

yes, that's EXACTLY what it means ::)
some cakes *need* icing. some don't - it just make the cake that much better and visually appealing. and some people just don't like icing but feel the need to make stupid comments about the intrinsic function of icing.
are they going to have that setup for the Patriot Center??
no idea, but i wouldn't be surprised if they do or have something equally ridiculous. the above pic is from a show in november, so at least we know that's their recent "look".
muse's stage & light show is always top-notch/over-the-top/shortcoming-covering.

This and one of the guy playing piano were the strongest entries for the contest when i checked yesterday.
I wonder how those guys manage to slip under the radar of copyright police unlike this entry which had the audio removed.

this one pretty strong as well with a furry puppet an guitar hero controller

Just got my floor ticket no problem, it was 68 bucks :o Should be a great show though ;D
-
Tried for floor tickets, nothing. Just like yesterday. I actually had access to the Muse mailing list presale that happened on Wednesday but totally forgot about it.
I tried about 7 times to get decent concourse seats...it was pulling up stuff that was way up high and at the back of the arena. Ended up landing Section 115, Row 7, seats 6-7, which by my count should be only 6 rows up from the floor, and a little more than halfway back from the stage. Soooo...not too bad all in all.

detailed seating map of patriot center: http://www.patriotcenter.com/tickets/end_stage.shtml (click on map to zoom in and see row letters - they're not numbered, so 6th row from the floor would be row FF)
-
yeah I got in at exactly 10am and used two comps my laptop and work comp and I was able to get floor for each one but only needed one ;D
-
this venue's not good for concerts lol
-
this venue's not good for concerts lol
true dat. anything other than the backroom SUXXX!!!!!111
-
i'd see them at Verizon or DAR...Patriot Center suxxx

I was on right at 10, but I must have been slow or something. I selected floor seating on the first web page, and it came up with nothing. I tried searching best available seating about a dozen times with the seats I was pulling getting seemingly progressively worse each time. I was just about to throw in the towel when I finally pulled GA floor! w00t!
-
i'd see them at Verizon or DAR...Patriot Center suxxx
really? you think the sound of the patriot center is worse than DAR? or is this a question of convenience, or something else? admittedly getting all the way out to fairfax is a pain in the a$$... but of the 5-6 shows i've seen there, the patriot has never sounded bad.
-
We will all have a get together with Kosmo djing ;D
-
yes, i do think patriot has bad sound (I have no complaints with the sound at DAR based on the last two shows I saw there - Pixies, Arcade Fire) but i guess it is to be expected for a venue that size (it holds 10,000, correct?) and for a venue that's really designed for sports.

show is pretty much sold out - only a few scattered singles left at the back of the house in the upper rows. no pairs left.
-
NY on sale tomorrow anyone going to that ;D
-
NY on sale tomorrow anyone going to that ;D
i'm considering it. i have free transpo to NYC on amtrak and arranging last-minute entry should be do-able. might be a game-time decision (read: depending how amped up i am after the patriot center show).
-
Got our floors. Very excited for the spectacle, even though the new album is probably my least favorite.
-
Is this a tour that will also make its way out west?

looks like joe got his wish - SF show moved to oracle arena ::)
-
they played at oracle arena this past friday, 12/11 (Not So Silent Night). Are you saying they will also play there in April?
looks like joe got his wish - SF show moved to oracle arena ::)
-
yup - muse & sspu @ oracle arena on wednesday, 14 april. see muse's website for details.
-
much better venue!
also, I think they are playing Coachella 2010!
yup - muse & sspu @ oracle arena on wednesday, 14 april. see muse's website for details.
-
ahh... that would explain why they didn't announce a date for LA.
so muse would be one of coachella's main stage headliners. hum.
-
the new album is probably my least favorite.
I feel like the new album is a huge letdown. Where are the stomping numbers like Hysteria, Stockholm and Knights? I personally do not like songs like Starlight and it feels like its an album full of tracks in that vein. Still, they bring it live so its a good ticket to have.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this too.

Are you saying you no longer want to be my "Cleaner"?

Wow, show in Baltimore just announced. 3/3 at 1st Mariner Arena.
Presale tickets available now!
-
hmm I might do the Baltimore show too. GA still available thru the pre sale site now ;D
-
just picked up a GA ticket. Total cost 72 thru ticketmaster the presale total was 68 :o
-
oh yeah?
care to recommend a specific brand?
$127 would buy a really nice vibrator.
I'm just sayin'.
-
oh yeah?
care to recommend a specific brand?
If you had that kind of cash to drop you'd have to go with the Endless Pleasure Rabbit or Jenna's Ultimate G, but if you're willing to take the chance, you could be the first on the block with the White Stork and be the envy of all your girl's girlfriends.
-
ok thanks. I *really* like the look of the White Stork. It has ridges...wow :P

Sounds painful.
Not as painful as going to an arena for a concert, though.
Have fun, guys/girls!
-
this is one of the better morphs we've had
-
I think "Silversun Pickup" would be a great name for one of these...
-
very decent tix available on TM right now. i was even able to pull up a single floor.
also lots of tickets going for below cost/way cheap on CL.
-
SSPU put on a solid performance but sounded horrible. the sound improved as more meat baffles arrived, but there's no way the house engineer was doing his 100% to make the band sound its best. a damn shame. brian aubert has one hell of a set of pipes, and chris guanlao looks like a muppet when he gets going.
muse were solid. the new songs were ok, it was the older stuff that really got the crowd going. i don't think i'll ever get tired of hearing "plug in baby" live. the three-part "Exogenesis: Symphony" thingy came across like a whole lot of wankery, imo. the stage set-up was impressive:
a pic from one of their shows, less than a month ago - i hope we get this stage show:
yup, that's what we got. all 4 sides of the "buildings" were lcd screens and were used to great effect (the "dna sequence" at the beginning of the show was cool, as was the "aquarium" bit). the risers (aka bottom half of the building) lowered and raised throughout the show. no spinal-tap-esque mishaps to report :) they had frikken lasers. a lot of them.
this was my third time seeing muse and might have been my least favorite. it was a great show, i just wasn't blown away like the last 2 times i saw them. i wasn't feeling high-energy and we stayed seated for the entire show. pity that i forgot my camera, there were some amazing visuals.
-
thought the same thing, silversun pickups were great, Muse was 'meh'...
