Title: Devo Presale
Post by: Paul Styrene on June 04, 2005, 10:56:00 am
I see that the Devo presale is for tix on the 14th of August.  Can anyone share when tix will be going on sale for the show on August 13th or even if Devo is scheduled for that night?  I got a bunch of folks who don't like to play on a Sunday (read: work) night and are pretty much looking forward to the Saturday show.

 Thanks.

Re: presale, was the info in an email newsletter?  I get the 9:30 email newsletter, but haven't noticed any mention of Devo yet. I'm traveling from out of town (upstate NY) for the shows, and want to be sure I get tickets ASAP.  So any info that anyone has is most appreciated.  Thanks.  - Dave

I dunno Kosmo.  It's kind of refreshing to see folks looking for ticket information than moaning about another old band playing.

no it's good people are seeking info... however the number of tickets available in the presale is small and it really only should be a benefit for those are volume subscribers, or those who can track it down... volume being the paper newsletter mailed out... volume has had presales in it for two or three years and subscription information is often provided so it's not this should come as suprise to anyone.

I live in Richmond and I get the Volume newsletter... SUBSCRIBE. IT'S FREE. Jesus Christ, it's not fair to people who put forth hardly any effort and get it honestly and legitimately...

Treeware is so passe.  I try to subscribe to as few paper newsletters as possible, since I move about once a year, and it's annoying to update my information with each one.  Sorry, but I'd rather get my info from the interweb.

so can people with the password do the presale at the box office and just whisper the password to the person selling the tickets in order to avoid paying a service charge of more than $1?

Paper mailings suck.. join the 21st century please--as "for those who can track it down" why not make it real special, for only special people, and put out a damn treasure map.
 Oh Boy

whatever... the club has been doing paper mailing for many years and including presale passwords for the past few...

And we do email blasts as well, with special opportunites just for those who subscribe to our email list. People bitch about those just as much as they bitch about the newsletter promotions.

I think if you email your (tree-hugging snail mail) to list_serve@930.com, they will send it to you (maybe not in time for Devo..but for future presales).

please don't be snobbish when it comes to the junior members.  Some people are junior members because they don't have time to post 24/7... I read multiple times a day, but just have a job  that does not allow me more than the quick perusal. The shows take up enough time... And note I signed up almost a year ago (and have attended more shows than I can count and that includes the OLD 930); it's the person's member number that's more a signifier than whether someone is a junior member. You "regulars" should keep that in mind that just because you post non-stop doesn't mean you are more of an avid 930 patron than those of us "newbies".

And i subscribe to both the volume and email so not complaints on passwords from me    ;)

Yeah, I started to get four tickets, and it was $244 (before the odd handling and will call/shipping charges).  F' that.  I'll wait and see if I can get tickets at the box office.

$65 is a bit more than i can afford to spend right now.   might be different if tickets are still available when august rolls around..

The service charges aren't much worse than any other tickets.com show.  $6.50/ticket + $3.25 for delivery.  That's not so bad, considering I never have to leave my desk.  I've seen TicketMaster charge over twice that much for some shows.

What, Devo Tix are available in presale?  And I've been watching my email like a hawk, praying to get that email saying "pretix for D-E-V-O" avail today....Like All those other Emails I get on occasion.  I wanted to see Devo back in 1980, They were going to play an Arena in Bethleham/Allentown PA, but...The concert date was canceled for some reason.  Hence, I don't want to miss this one at the 930 Club.  The DVD's of there concert are fun to watch, but I wana see em live!  Perhaps the Gods at 930 can fill us in on a possible presale for the Saturday concert.  http://www.clubdevo.com/mp/live.html (http://www.clubdevo.com/mp/live.html) This link says, two concerts, one Saturday, one Sunday . . .
