FYI - The Shins to perform on Letterman on 1/13/04.
Anyone see Ryan Adams on the show last night? He pushed the microphone stand down at the end of the song. It came back up and hit him in the head.
-
I taped Ryan....I think it'll be funny.
Thanks for the heads up on the Shins.
-
Didn't he do the same thing with his original fanbase?

Ryan is rather short, isn't he?
-
Compared to you.
I remember standing next to him and being shorter than him, and I'm 5'9"+.

Why is it chubby chicks get their pics taken with rock stars ten times as often as skinny chicks?
-
I think the more important question is... Do either of them have crowns or caps?
-
He seemed pretty short standing next to Letterman.

the skinny chicks are too busy getting laid to be stalking "rock stars"
(is Ryan Adams REALLY considered a rock star?)

Thanks for the heads up on the Shins.
From Sub Pop Records website:
2004-01-08 - SHINS BUMPED
Sad tidings, friends: Our Shins have been somewhat unceremoniously "bumped" (which, is industry-speak for "Isiah Thomas is far more popular") from performing on the David Letterman's Late at Night Entertainment Show. We at the Sub Pop Recording Concern are hopeful that The Shins will soon be granted another opportunity to perform their wonderful brand of musical amusements on Mr. Letterman's program. We will post any new news pertaining to this performance here. In the meantime, don't forget to watch when they play on the Conan O'Brien Nighttime Carnival of Surprises February the 17th.

Per rockontv.com: Howie is on 1/14, The Shins on 1/15, Phantom Planet on 1/22.

Oy vay. I give up.
"Well, it's been a back and forth affair with The Shins and David Letterman, but the boys are making their way over to the studio today, Tuesday (January 13th) to appear on the show. If for some reason "That" Jeff Daniels' time runs over (he being one of the guests tonight), The Shins have been guaranteed to be on Thursday's show. Basically, we will know by 3 pm today what the deal is...watch this space. In other Shins news, they have added a show at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC this Friday night, January 16th ."
Letterman's new schedule:
01/13/04
11:35 pm The Shins
01/14/04
11:35 pm Howie Day
01/15/04
01/ 23 /04
11:35 pm Phantom Planet
