Bio: Screen Vinyl Image, the duo of Jake and Kim Reid, has been pushing audiences further towards total audio-visual overload since Jake's tenure in cult shoegazers Alcian Blue. SVI has spent the past few years honing their cinematic sound, incorporating elements of shoegaze, synthpop, post-punk, and house and Italo disco, over several releases on Custom Made Music and the band's own Safranin Sound label. Their sound is a gritty, futuristic one, inspired sonically and thematically by science fiction, and could be the sound of a house band straight out of Blade Runner or Neuromancer. Both tracks on this 7" are frosty and detached, burying vocals under insistent drum machine rhythms, swirling synths, and chiming guitars.
