This whole thing is just so weird. Dude comes out of nowhere to win the Democratic primary in South Carolina despite no one ever having heard of him, having done no campaigning, raised no money and having almost no positions. And, naturally, he has a pending conviction for showing pornography to some chick (who, I think, was over 18, so I don't understand that).
So its weird, but goddamn is it ever entertaining.
GOP plant? Fondness for a Gump? Ballot machine failure?
TR: How do you think you beat your opponent, Vic Rawl, who raised nearly $200,000?
AG: I didn?t know he had that much. What did he spend it on?
TR: I?d imagine a Web site, a staff, signage, things most political campaigns have.
AG: Well, I?m self-managed?
TR: Including the $10,400 filing fee to become a candidate, would you say you spent less than $12,000 on your campaign?
AG: A whole lot less.
TR: How, then, did you beat someone who had more than 10 times the money you had?
AG: What was that amount again that he spent? A hundred bucks?
TR: No. He raised $186,000.
AG: A hundred eighty-six thousand? That?s kind of amazing.

"I'm the Democratic Party nominee," Greene says in the interview at his father's home on a lonely stretch of rural highway in central South Carolina. "The people have spoken. The people of South Carolina have spoken. The people of South Carolina have spoken. We have to be pro-South Carolina. The people of South Carolina have spoken. We have to be pro-South Carolina."
A campaign flier lies on the table. "Satin green," he says proudly. "It's pretty. I like that." Greene won't say who printed it or where it was distributed. He cautions that it's his only copy and should be handled with care. Asked how many fliers were printed, he says "hundreds," then pauses.
"Maybe thousands. Hundreds. Maybe a hundred. I don't know exactly."

"... relates to (one of the) issues i'm concentrating on - justice in the judicial system".
when pressed about the charges against him, he offers this as an explanation: "we know about the statics in the judicial system in this country". oh. ok. that explains everything. or something. or whatever.
good grief. as if politics in this country aren't effed up enough already.

criminals and politics. nothing new. he just did it backwards. LOL.

I had not heard the story and had no idea what was going on upon turning on Olbermann during his interview a few nights back. Thought "wtf is this jr. high dropout doing on here?" then things slowly became clearer. I vote plant.

i find it "interesting" that in every interview he has done after the win . . . he showed no excitement or interest in even what he had accomplished. he could not name one place he claimed to have visited in his driving across the state in a "grass roots" campaign, go into detail about what he said to anybody, nobody has come forward in the places he visited, where the money came from for gas or the $10000 entry fee, though he's out of work and collects unemployment, besides a "it was my money."
-
did he have an affair with Nikki Haley yet?
-
This guy is a joke. He will not win the state and if they do replace him beforehand, his replacement wouldnt either. But a plant? I doubt that, but you never know, weirder stuff has happened.
-
I love blaming the GOP :D
Give it to him. It's amazing. I was blown away when I read this, dude didn't do anything! What the hell!?!?
-
actually on the plant side . . . most are saying he is one from the tea party people, not the gop.
-
He's an alien. Seeing him be interviewed is so strange.

the talking head the daily show had a clip of regarding why Alvin Greene won, suggested it was because he was listed first on the ballot due to alphabetical order. it still very odd as to why he came up with 10K to get his name on the ballot in the first place.
-
i find it amusing that now they are saying the more than likely reason he won is . . . because the idiots of south carolina had no idea who either of the democratic nominees were, so they voted for al greene because they thought it was the singer. wow. who they fuck votes without knowing anything about who you are voting for. now this country makes sense.

If the name was spelled Treigh Anestasia, would you vote for him or her? ;D
