I'll be DJing this Thursday (7/22) before and between bands at the Pimps of Joytime (http://www.myspace.com/pimpsofjoytime) show at DC9 (http://www.dcnine.com/).
Tickets (http://www.ticketalternative.com/Events/11284.aspx) are $10 in advance and $12 day of show. DC9 is located at 1940 9th Street NW, Washington, D.C. (on 9th Street just south of U Street).
The Pimps of Joytime bridge underground funk, soul, pop, dance, Afrobeat, and Latin, filling every song with soulful harmonies and uplifting vibes. They have released two albums on Nickodemus?s Wonderwheel label: "High Steppin" and "Funk Fixes and Remixes." Their newest album, "Funky Brooklyn," is coming soon.
