Jesus God almighty! I just returned for the third straight time from your venue in the last few months and the temperature inside was just brutal. WHAT is going on with your central air? Seriously. Are you cutting back to save money? It wasn't like this before. At one point I thought I was literally going to pass out it was so hot. Enough already. Do something about this. It's bullshit!
-
maybe the a/c refused to pay service charges . . . or was pissed at eight dollar heinekens and got the air out of there. or maybe it just wanted to dance.
-
you know...I actually noticed it myself last time, and forgot to follow up on it
on it now

Based on the Subject alone, I was totally expecting this thread to be a Thousand Made-Up Love's original. Am I the only one?!?!?!

Nah, AC is a serious issue.
-
You know the A/C is screwed when you leave a show and it is cooler outside. I was drenched last night at Tears for Fears and wasn't even moving.
-
i have noticed that it is hotter upstairs than downstairs. go downstairs.
-
How was Tears for Fears by the way? I am SHOCKED that a $45 show on a Monday night in late August sold out. Didn't try for a ticket outside the club as I was not in to dealing with a sold out crowd on a Monday...looks like I avoided the internal heat wave.
-
why shocking? they sold out 2 days prior to the show......1200 seats......
a friend of mine saw them in May in the philippines...they sold out a 25,000 capacity coliseum.....

Haven't been to the Club since the first New Pornos show. I do remember a show last summer being really hot there.

Haha, I'm still waiting on more information on a potential Underworld gig from Sethy. But I love that you and Seth has always been responsive to our queries and comments. Cheers!

That was fast. I have some problems around the house I'd like for you to look at, if you don't mind.

[Old Man voice] When I was a boy, the 930 Club had no AC at all, just a big fan in the corner which wasn't always on... and no circulation... so when it got crowded it was like 150 degrees in there and the place reeked of hair gel, clove cigarettes, stale beer, leather and sweat... and we liked it that way!!!

i believe that rat urine was also part of the "unique smell" of the old club.

I thought that smell was the reek of self-righteousness coming of the straight-edge kids... ;)

Thought they found out one of the beer lines was leaking behind a wall.

yeah, i've also read that beer leaked and that the subfloor was saturated with it (in the WaPo's 30th anniversary multimedia piece, i believe), but i was making reference to:
"At one point, one of the staff members led an odor specialist around the building. He determined that the unique smell to be resultant of a combination of tobacco, sweat, cleaner, and rat urine." (WaPo, 2005).
