Stummer in 99 was my first date with my wife.

I proposed to my wife after Pearl Jam covered "Know Your Rights" in honor of Stummer's passing in 2002.

Loaded up my Ipod with "Clash on Broadway" to listen to today at work.

Miss you Joe!

Joe Strummer bought my sister a drink after one of his Mescaleros gigs. She said he was literally the nicest, most sincere performer she's ever met. He was making fun of his stature and told her that he only had once muscle in his body, which was in his arm (from playing guitar). He told her to feel it, and her comment (in retrospect) was "he wasn't weird or creepy about it either". He was just one of those guys who really connected with people. There was nothing fake about him and everyone he met was treated with respect. RIP Joe.

I concur, one of the best. The Clash are the Beatles of my generation...and yes, I got to see them in their heyday. (London Calling) A memory I will always treasure, and I don't say that lightly.

Nice one Joe - you died too young.

Whatever.  Kill Your Idols.

The Clash...The Clash...The Clash....hmmmmm.  Weren't they the band that did that Levi's
ad in the 1990's?

Oh, so he was the U.K. SPRINGSTEEN!  Well, that explains everything.

Brian

BAH HUMBUG! The wannabe Lester Bangs resurfaces. Too bad he doesn't have his taste or literary prowess.

somedays wallace is the real wallace . . . and others he is just brian.  either way, i feel he was touched by some yucky old troll at a young age at either a pink floyd or bruce springsteen concert.  and this what we have today.
