Weird, they just changed their front splash page. Just went in to find the missing artists booked because a few are missing from your above list. It's now missing.

The dates are June 9-12, 2011

Pretty awesome lineup.   It' s much better than Coachellas.    Im actually thinking about going.

LOL. It is much easier to read. I just copied and pasted the line-up and it listed that way.

They must be working on the site now for us to see it changing around like it is. I wasn't even sure if there was a thread yet which is why I posted it in another thread. Good cross-reference for us, I guess.

I thought exactly the same thing but chose to keep it to myself. For me, the Austin Psych Fest still has this beat but, even still, can't complain.

Are there even any bands around left to book? LOL

Plenty of bands I would gladly see in a club setting on that lineup but in Tennessee in the dead of June with 80k wookies? No.

<disclaimer> I am most likely the most anti-big festival person on this board.

Edit: There, Rhett. I fixed it just for you.

I agree that across the board I like this better than Coachella this year, though it is lacking some of the few and far between "holy shit" names that Coachella has (Death from Above, PJ Harvey, Leftfield and some others).

Bonnaroo did a fairly good job this year of coming through with some good heavier acts, as they usually do.  Also stuff like Man Man and !!! are perfect for Bonnaroo.

Friday night is supposedly Arcade Fire into My Morning Jacket, which sounds pretty heavenly.

I'm surprised Buffalo Springfield is billed as low as they are (below Black Keys!).  I'm guessing from their position, they won't get an unopposed headlining set.

I much better about my presale ticket than I did last year.

If Bonaroo were held in NoVA and ticket prices were the same as Bumbershoot, I'd go. No matter how many hippies I had to endure.

Do real hippies really go to music festivals anymore? Or are you referring to unwashed, brain dead trust fund kids as "hippies"?

I'm not trying to stir things up (honestly, I'm not) but what specifically about this line-up makes it that much better than Coachella?

Robert Plant?

A re-united Buffalo Springfield?  Is that it?

String Cheese Incident?

Mumford and Sons?

I'm genuinely curious because this line-up seems just about as blah as Coachella but with ZERO chance of seeing Natalie Portman.

Brian, for me, more appealing Indie artists and just a few others I'd actually enjoy. Granted, a lot that I'm not all that excited about but many of your average hipsters would appreciate much more. But, like you, my tastes tend to be much different than the average hipster. I'd love to see the Buffalo Springfield though I don't have a clue if they can deliver it anymore. I know you are a big ageist and wouldn't appreciate them but that's your right. There's just enough there that I'd enjoy seeing just to see them. Not a whole lot I can say that about for Coachella. Now, the Austin Psych Fest is a whole other story. Tons of bands I'd very much love to see. You'd hate them though. All in all, I just started posting this in the other thread because I was excited about The Black Angels and saw a lot of bands listed that I know would go over well with people on this board.

Alison Krauss puts on a very good show. Not someone I'd go out of my way to see but happened to see her once and was very highly impressed.

Changed "hippies" to "wookies" in my post so as not to offend "real hippies" such as Rhett (apparently).

Rhett only likes to pretend he's a hippy sometimes. He's really a yuppie.  ;)

Got my ticket just now, this year the website is getting hammered.  Maybe a quick sell out like all the other festivals this year.  ;D
