I just got a flier on my car talking about a club where you have to be 25 and older (guys) and 21 and older (gals). I have never heard of clubs doing anything beyond 21 and older before. Is this legal?

its a money making venture. they get the older men in there to buy lots of drinks for the younger ladies. the more everyone drinks, the more the club makes. zanzibar near me does that all the time.
its the old adage that all men skirt chase, particularly when they can get the barely legals in there and hope that many the barely legals might go home with their old mangey selves.

blue gin in georgetown is 25+. but also not a place you would want to go. though there it's 25+ for both genders.

i ran into this problem a couple years ago in stockholm, just about all the clubs had this kind of set up. i was pretty surprised.

It is? Maybe that's why it seemed better than Modern last Saturday. I went out in G'town for the first time in years -- some single, mid-30s gals wanted to go to some fun places, not just hotel lounges. Oy, not for me. But Blue Gin wasn't bad (though two drinks and two sodas was $28 before tip...another way to keep out the young 'uns).
Meanwhile, there was a line around the block to get in to Third Edition next door to Blue Gin -- what a hell hole that place is. Kids looking about ready to vomit in the alley.

blue gin isn't that bad if you're looking for a classy place ... their drinks are really fantastic ... and i've had no trouble getting in as a 22-23 yr old
