Title: Kyuss Lives...from jail

Last month, former Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri was arrested for felony domestic violence after a face-off with a S.W.A.T. team in Los Angeles. Oliveri had locked himself and his ex-girlfriend inside his apartment when she was collecting her belongings to move out, after Oliveri allegedly struck her. A S.W.A.T. team was called, and two hours later, Oliveri allowed his ex to leave, then surrendered himself after another two hours. When police entered the apartment, they found a loaded, high-powered rifle, as well as cocaine and methamphetamine.

Now, TMZ reports that Oliveri has been charged with four felonies and he faces a maximum of 15 years in prison. According to TMZ, Oliveri has been charged with "two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and one misdemeanor count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer." 15 years is the maximum sentence if he's convicted of all of those counts.

Is Scott Reeder taking over permanently for the tour? I believe he played the gigs in europe.

I saw Mondo Generator once and Nick is definitely a loose cannon. So sad that someone with talent is so out of control. But I think jail is probably where he belongs.

I saw Mondo at the BC a few years ago. "Loose Cannon" is right on.

I hope things work out for Nick but Scott Reeder handling bass duties would be godly.

Nothing like staring down the barrel of 15 years to wake you the F up.

I saw Nick several times with Queens and he always behaved here in DC. I bet Mark Lanegan didn't take any of his crap. The last time Queens played 9:30 Nick was already long out of the band, but Nick was up in the balcony looking forlorn. I don't care if Nick or Scott is on bass, as long as the gig in September happens.

Didn't he just play a solo acoustic show at Velvet?

Anyone have an update on this?  I bribed the wifey into going but wonder if the band has announced who will be playing bass on the tour.

Nick is great and all but I've never seen Reeder play live before.  Kinda hoping I get to see Scott.
