or go see Rob Thomas, at Merriweather...who may, in fact, be affiliated with Slayer and/or the Devil himself!
(and if he's not, attending this show will surely secure a place for you in hell!)

Clash of the Titans in 1991 (Slayer, Megadeath, Anthrax and Alice in Chains) was still one of the most amazing shows of my life. Probably the only show I know of where people left the seats and headed for the grass area to mosh. Left the security completely dumbfounded.

heh... around that same era, I saw Def Leppard play the Capital Centre. To be exact, it was on election eve, 1992. At one point during show, Def Leppard announced that it looked like Clinton was winning, and the response was overwhelmingly booing. That's when I realized that metal-heads not only look like mullet-headed neanderthals, they are mullet-headed neanderthals.

Calling Def Leppard metal is like calling Blink 182 punk.

I thought the definition of metal, was "bad, over-dramatic and generally humorless music played by former Dungeons and Dragons masters with big hair and too much spandex?"

Never heard of that definition before, you did get the "big hair" and "too much spandex" part right though. Does that mean that Indie and emo music are defined as "boring, lul you to sleep music played by former high school nerds that had no friends and wore chest high pants with suspenders and big glasses with tape in the middle"?
