Anyone else?
-
I have a ticket but sadly still not feeling well enough to get up there for it. I'm bummed.
-
u can email it to me! ;D
-
If you're going to use it, PM me your e-mail and I'll send it over. Better that it goes to use.
-
Sent. Have a fun time! Ask Steve what he prefers: Hot Doug's or Superdawg. OR ask him to describe the smell in Paulina Meat Market. Something tells me he'll be receptive.

...when're they coming back to DC??

Damn that rain was intense! Missed Helen Money due to traffic n' weather. Got there in time for Shellac. Cool to hear 'em open up with "Copper". Fairly short set though only an hour and 15 mins. Those guys are crack ups and I love the q&a sessions!
-
Sweet. I guess we (Joe and myself) only missed a song or two at most. We left at 11:25 so that I could catch an 11:40 train that did not show up until around midnight.
Awesome show. Helen Money was cool but the novelty of a super electrified violin got old fast.
-
yeah, great show...but i felt it was a tad too short. Agreed about Helen Money...I enjoyed her set, but it was probably too long.
Ian MacKaye and Ian Svenonius spotted at the show

Sounds like it was a good time. I love Shellac. I used to go over to Steve's house and buy their merch. I'm bummed I wasn't able to go.
-
Was a good show! It didn't seem that short to me, but it's probably because I'm getting old and it was a weeknight, and I wanted to hear the end of the Orioles/Red Sox game (which I got to listen to one the way home). Always great seeing Shellac, and there were some good questions.
And to answer the emulsification one....pour the oil in a slow steady stream while whisking constantly :)

"I'm a plane".
To me that was the highlight of the night.
Such intense music makes a much longer set hard to take. Sort of like when Fugazi was doing 2 hour + sets.

Oh wow, they played "Wingwalker"? NICE.
-
yeah, LOOK AT ME, I'm a planeeeeee!
thanks again bearman for the tix.
-
I'm so glad that you had a good time. That's a great show. Awesome!
-
yeah i don't think anyone left that show disappointed...

Freakin' HYSTERICAL.

Does anybody have a setlist? Curious as to what I missed.

They didn't use one (mostly gestures and chords to choose songs). A lot of the classics, and Q&A was a lot of fun.
-
I left a song or two early and was wondering if anyone remembered one.

I don't know the catalog well enough to say all they played, but have to assume some there could rattle the setlist off...
-
they didn't do Wingwalker in philly, that's for sure!
-
Yeah, I think that's a rarity.
-
They seemed to really have a blast doing it.
-
That song was fantastic. My husband's all time fave.

The first 2 7" singles they did are probably my favorites. I LOVE the song "Doris". Incredible drumming. One of their signature songs, and they never play it live.
