so 2011 is shaping up to be a banner year in music for me personally - just tons of great stuff out there - one thing I haven't heard much of this year however is loud music - not black metal or anything but stuff like Future of the Left/McLusky, Jay Reatard, Pulled Apart by Horses, Kysela, Burning Brides etc etc
so far this year all I really have is the Decibelles....other suggestions welcome!

I don't know is it's loud but checkout The Heartbreaks, a nice mixture of various britpop influences. Two singles on eMusic. Haven't heard the new Fungi girls yet, they are pretty much noisy...

If you haven't heard them yet, you should check out The Joy Formidable. Loud yet not obnoxiously so. Seems to fit what you are asking for.

Russian Circles
TV Ghost
Psychic Paramount
Black Tusk
Lightning Bolt

Trash Talk just released their Awake EP. It smokes. HIGHLY recommended.
Double Negative just recorded a couple new 7" records but I have not heard when they are going to be released. I'd go get their last 2 if you haven't already (Hardcore Confusion VOL I and II).
Brooklyn Vegan linked the stream to four tracks from Ghouls' new album due in early November. I like these better than much of their older material (really looking forward to seeing them tomorrow night at the club....GREAT line up, btw).

Or are they uncool because Pitchfork liked them?

WHAT? SPEAK UP....CAN'T HEAR A WORD YOU'RE SAYING...
Get your favourite music and turn the volume up.

thanks guys for all, err most, of your suggestions!

i guess it's loud when you have two people shouting at each other?

You're very welcome!!! :-*
BTW - may I suggest "Ziggy Stardust" at full volume. It actually suggests it on the cover. If you haven't listened to it in a while you'll be amazed at how bloody incredible that album is.
Okay, Brian - lets hear how manufactured and irrelevant it is.....I can't wait.

They're not new, but Will Haven put out a new record with Grady Avenell back on vocals. That dude's the best.

The Foo Fighters album is, surprisingly, one of my favorite albums this year. It has a dud or two... But it has 10 less duds than the last few albums. Even the duds rock, so I dig it.
