Post by: brennser on January 14, 2004, 12:42:00 pm
I fuckin hate the bastards

can anyone tell me how I can get these things to just play the damn music while I work on my computer, and stop sending me to stupid pages where I get to access exclusive content

last week it was stereophonics, this week its South.....

If you can rip it, then just listen to the MP3s, silly.

I never ever look at the enhanced content even though it can sway me into buying a CD. How foolish is that?

You can disable autorun by holding down 'shift' (i think - if not that, it's alt or ctrl...etc) when you put the cd in.  After that it should just work like a normal cd.  Still, it is annoying.  Although it was sort of fun to give a coworker the last supergrass cd that just started blaring the music for about 30 seconds before he could do anything about it.

Hey, how is South?  Can you compare it to anyone, both for sound and quality?  I'm hitting that Metric, South show on Black Saturday....   ;)

based on only a listen or two I would say they are quite good, listening to Colours in Waves at the moment which is very good and very reminiscent of The Doves

other stuff sounds like a slightly less melancholic Elbow
