I know all of you are on the edge of your seats this morning, waiting to find out what Kosmo could come up with tune wise. This on very short notice with a limited library for the Adam Lambert show.  So here you go....  I had no real expectations for the show, but liked what I heard.

Ivy - Distant Lights
Lady Gaga - Born This Way
Tinted Windows - Can?t Get A Read On You
The Black Keys - Lonely Boy
Maroon 5 - Moves Like Jagger
Fountains Of Wayne - A Day In The Ocean
Adele - Rolling In The Deep
Kylie Minogue - Timebomb
Saint Etienne - Tonight
Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)
The Primitives - The Witch

well i was curious!

I don't know man... I woul d have glammed it up a bit - T Rex- and thrown in some Queen but maybe these things were not available to you given the insane short notice! I'd also have played a little more gay music.. like an Erasure song

also, Pumped up Kicks has to be retired..its so 2011. Moves like Jagger ? Adele? These are like the greatest hits / most overplayed songs ever..

I was going to say your setlist wasn't gay enough.

But then I saw the Coldplay.

So Foster The People is so 2011, but T.Rex is still relevant?  ;)

Yup had I had time to consider this, I would have played George Micheal, Queen, Pink, etc.  But I was up for the challenge of working with what I had available.  Should have had my iPod with me.

I also tried to counter the overplayed with lesser known tracks.

ao you're admitting that your ipod is stacked with George Micheal, Queen, Pink, etc?  sweet.

But of course!

The phone is of course stacked with contemporary Funk/Soul and Power Pop bands as it should be.

Think that I would have Gayed it up a bit too but not in the way Hutch mentioned. Less obvious and much younger. After all, I would suspect that the crowd would tend to be on the youngish side. My guess, lots of young girls and younger sort of mainstream Gays.

I do think the St. Etienne, Goldfrapp and Ivy were perfect blends of cool, Gay and near newish though I think that for the St. E song, I would have gone with 'Boy Is Crying'. Just a personal choice.

Not an easy task refining such a show when it's kind of out of your own realm and at the last minute.

Oh, and maybe I'd try to throw some Alt. Rock in there somewhere except that I really don't have a clue anymore what's going on in that genre.

Adam Lambert's fan base is due to him being a close American Idol runner up and his sound definitely leans more rock than dance.  There were female fans of a wide age range in attendance last night.

I'm surprised that no one picked up on the Adam Schlesinger trifecta pulled off last night.  Fountains of Wayne, Ivy and Tinted Windows.  In retrospect had I time to pull together more tunes in the vein of Tinted Windows/Cheap Trick.

Not a single song by anyone who actually won American Idol.  Or better yet, not a setlist based on all the contestants from season 8.  That would have slayed me.

My iPod has many things, but American Idol Contestants is not one of them ;)

First, what's an iPod?

Second, if you don't have any Kelly Clarkson, I would revoke your DJ card.

Lastly, your life would suck without me.

Kelly Clarkson was on American Idol?

And I don't think there are any cloud enabled DJ mixers yet...
