Title: Snow thread
Post by: atomic on January 20, 2014, 11:22:54 am
So is it going to snow tomorrow? If it does are you going into work?  My company never closes so I will be here.

Well I could do it on my lunch hour if you paid me 100 dollars for the pizza and you lived within 15 miles of me.

It really depends. The last time it snowed, my office did close, but most of the snow was melted by midday... The time before that my office remained open even though it was freezing outside and there was ice all over the roads, but the streets were semi clear. It takes a good amount of snow for my office to close. Even then it's kind of hit or miss. It's been pretty dry and the high for tomorrow is 30, and the high for Wednesday is showing 19. Could make for a decent snowfall.

Trying to decide whether or not to drive back from the beach (OC) tomorrow or just stay put.  I'm sure schools will be closed on Wed.  MoCo has an off-day Tuesday.

Definitely schools closed Tues. But you think Wed as well? I'm thinking two hour delay for Wed.

It's not supposed to stop snowing until after dark and that snow's not going anywhere soon, so I have my doubts (hopes) for school on Wednesday - my kind of school week.

I am at work.  Had to convince the wife not to go in.  I have a great view of the snow from my 10th floor office.

it is now a white out beyond the mountains in the cold long tundra of the simple quiet valley.  ten inches they say we are to take and every inch we assume to be the worst.  i curl back down and wonder how long this suffering i must endure.

The weatherpeople say it's not so much the actual inches as it is the ration of frozen to liquid precip. Typical snow is 10:1 (1" rain equals 10" snow). They say this storm is 15:1.

Just got home.  There are a lot of little cars out there driving around.  If you don't have 4 wheel drive you shouldn't be driving in storms likes this.  Come on people.

I like Julian.  I think him and Walky are our best forum members.  We need more people like him to make the place fun.

I'm loving this. A Julian/ggw fued is the exact sort of thing we can build our Sweeps week programming around.

It's not the depth. It's the density.
