So, no dice for me on the Black Cat show. Can't just leave work, particularly the week of a Board meeting and a major court action.
BUT, they are playing Wrigley Field Aug 29th, 2015. Yup, in 10 months.
Presale is Friday. Is that through fan club, what? ANYONE know, email me at nancy_bagot@yahoo.com
THANK you Thank you

I'm sure that Wrigley is part of a tour, maybe they'll play Nats Park?
-
really? REALLY?
a whole thread, for that.
-
Well at least, now we can, all send prank email, to Nancy. Since, we have her email address.

a whole thread, for that.

Somehow, I ALREADY had her email address and I have absolutely no idea why since I can't recall emailing her ever. ???
-
The Cubs usually do foo on Wrigley Field.

it would be kinda cool if they do this at nats park with some dc acts
-
Holy hell, I would love to see a Foo-less bill of Cheap Trick, Urge Overkill and Naked Raygun.
I have nothing against The Foo fighters but I love those three bands right there (that said, Urge Overkill kinda blew when I saw them last year).

i hear that is happening....foos at nats park.. not sure who would play with them
-
well they announced wrigley a week or so after the chicago club gig so i imagine a nats park announcement next week would be logical
he mentioned trouble funk a few times in a washington post interview this week so theyll probably be there. kinda a weird band to imagine seeing in a stadium though, especially as an opener playing to a sparse crowd
presumably a dischord act too. i guess he interviewed ian mackaye for the hbo show but getting him to play a baseball stadium seems like a major longshot
then assuming they follow the chicago formula, maybe an older band? lots of possibilities
ff verizon show a few years back was a blast but im fine not seeing them again, but if this bill matches the chicago one im in
-
im not into announcing gigs almost a year in advance though
-
i'd rather poke my eye with a stick than go to a stadium show...
the black cat show would be great....
Nats Park???? Unless Led Zep is playing....
-
.
-
.
oh you don't have to take that out.. so you don't like the foos
i'm not a huge fan either.... i enjoyed the verizon show somewhat... wish i'd seen them in a club..
-
So how is the food at Wrigley anyway?
-
Hutch, I try to not be too negative in life, and on here. I oftentimes delete posts that I write, before I post them. I have been trying to post in a nice way about my feelings about the Ex Hex record for a week, and have deleted every post before hitting submit. I am a fairly positive person and don't want people here to think I am crotchety.

Too late.
-
You do realize Hexenjagd was a joke right?
-
Well, I use Hexenjagd as the name of one of my music projects, but on here, I used it as a joke.

I go to Wrigley's for the food.

this would be a good show to quit your job over. there are plenty of jobs out there, but how often do you get to see ff at the black cat?
-
I think the target audience are single homeless people who live near the Black Cat...

Maybe that RedGoldGreen band would be on the bill since Grohl played drums on their album.

Are you kidding? When he wasn't begging money off you hipsters, he was living large in his $800,000 condo on U Street. He wouldn't have been anywhere near the Black Cat at 4pm on a weekday,

I thought his death was falsely reported and there was an interview with him somewhere after that?
Unless of course he died after all that.

All of the DC bands I'd like to see them with don't really exist anymore. Jawbox & Q and Not U w/ bassist?
They should really just play at Fort Reno since the Tower Records parking lot in Rockville is already booked.
-
Austin, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, New Orleans, New York, Seattle and Washington D.C.
So Wrigley, RFK, MetLife Stadium(?).........

Ha, I was at the Tower Records show too. I still have my EP Cassette tape of their second album they were handing out around here somewhere.

I absolutely loved the show. Over 3 hours long, 28 songs, loads of cover songs...I realize that RFK will be a ton of fun and a huge big rock show. But for 23 bucks you don't get a chance to have that much fun in that small a venue that often. Although tonight the Damned may give the Foos a run for the money. Just sayin'.

Thank you...I wish that people that have written them off would have a chance to check out a show like that one. They are really great musicians. Grohl knows he's probably not the best singer or guitarist. But he's got a powerhouse band and what he does is make sure that everyone has a truly great time. His energy and joy is infectious. When you watch people that love being on that stage for every minute they're on it, it's hard not to have a good time. And the audience matched that enthusiasm. I was surrounded by people that were pretty darn cool. Chris' guitar solo during "Miss You" was truly great, he's probably the best guitarist in the band...and Taylor is a powerhouse drummer that gives Dave a run for the money. If you're going to be in a band with him, you HAVE to be great.

That was my first Foo Fighters show. Why can't they play Freakin' "Wind Up" live? That was the first song at that gig.

It's the year of the Foo
