One of the bands I ALWAYS wanted to see but kept missing. Wish I had caught them with Lush.
-
sadly, as we can see from this thread...there is little interest...
-
I would go see Ride.
-
I would see ride too...but a thread will surely not make them come...
-
It wont help? Damn, I guess I shouldnt go make the Chapterhouse and Curve threads that I was about to go type...
-
I don't know...if this thread takes over the forum I bet it will heighten Seth's interest....
-
I would love to see them. but i'll probably wait a more official reunion announcement to get excited.
-
Would also go to a Ride show.
Hey Seth.
Jaguar, come out come out whereever you are.

Loved that Curve show in like 1998...wasn't it during their "reunion"? The craziest thing happened during "Die Like a Dog". I broke up a really violent fight between 2 girls. Clumps of hair were on the floor, blood was flying everywhere. Great show though.

I would love a Ride reunion the way next year the way I loved the Slowdive one this year...

I don't know if you remember, but it was at a Death Cab for Cutie/Cold War Kids show that I sold you my extra ticket to; where you told me about Curve, Ride, Chapterhouse, and a few more of the older shoegaze bands and what releases to check out. It was when I first was getting into the genre, but was mostly focusing on the newer bands that were touring (stuff like Screen Vinyl Image, Amusement Parks on Fire, SPC ECO).
I think Curve was my favorite of all of the ones that we talked about that day (I took notes and went home and got a bunch of the releases that you recommended).
Edited because I originally said DCFC and Franz Ferdinand, which I did go to at DAR, but in 2006 and not with you. The one I went to with you had to have been this show in 2009:

My sources are telling me the Ride reunion is confirmed for next year....
Also, I'm hearing about Lush....... Let me know if you want me to start a separate Lush thread...

Ah yes, I totally remember now! I LOVE Curve. The EP compilation "Pubic Fruit" is probably my favorite. Every song on there is great. I'm glad that you like them...I got to see them a couple of times. First time was in 1993 with the Jesus and Mary Chain and Spiritualized. Curve was one of those bands that I think deserved more respect...Garbage is basically a shiny pop version of what Curve was doing.
-
What the sources about these 2 bands?
Are we going to see a lineup with Lush + Ride + Slowdive next year?
-
As for Curve, at least we have SPC ECO (though I cant imagine them touring the US, but you never know).

I want to see RIDE on the 930 Club's sound system soooo bad! That would be incredible.
-
Forum party van anyone?
Shag wall to wall?
-
I guess I will go listen to this band since everyone on the Internet has been jerking off their entire family all day long over this incredible, once in a lifetime, nothing will equal it news.
-
exciting, but wish it's Chapterhouse instead. hehe
-
I saw that Ride Lush US tour in 91 still got the t-shirt, I remember them being more raw live then the records.

I doubt they are big enough? I thought it was the "Slowdive" type of popularity but I might be wrong.
I'd love a DC show in June, but since I won't be here in September, I probably need to go in June.
-
Ride definitely sold way more albums than Slowdive
-
Yeah, they were big at the time according to that Creation doc. Slowdive didn't catch on anywhere near as much.
-
Am Ex presale for Ride's T5 show happening now. I suspect this will sell out pretty fast.
-
I just can't do NYC.... :(
-
Am thinking of trying to make the Toronto show, but hoping for something closer to the west coast.
A Lush reunion would be epic.....
-
It appears to be a wrap.
-
me and Vas are going to NYC ;D
