Y'all heard ol' Rhett gush about North Cacalacky. Wells I'm abouts to spew all over that state. Bodacious it ain't.
My girlfriend and I visited Lumberton, North Carolina over the weekend. Her Mom, from Adelaide, Australia, is on a teacher exchange program there.
Let me tell you what an absolute joy it was to be able to drive down the main road and see not only a Walmart but a Lowes right next to it! To top that off there were numerous fast food chains that we could dine at. I counted only two independent restaurants and a shop called Bryants Gun & Pawn. But wait! There's more!
Downtown Lumberton was a ghost town. Saturday afternoon and the place was empty. The Bakery was silent and the local theatre looked like it could use a production.
Such a shame.

I believe it's "Kakalaka" (http://www.urbanflows.com/rapschool/defK.html), my milky-complected friend.

i was in greenville, nc last weekend. not too shabby of a town, they had a lowes right next to a home depot. that was confusing.
we did hit a used record store, i got a high quality neutral milk hotel bootleg and a pavement b side comp, the girl friend got alien lanes on record. made for a solid trip

Go to Asheville, Chapel Hill, or Raleigh. Or hike in the Smokies. If I were to live in or visit North Carolina, these are the places I would go. It's almost like these places are extra cool because they are where the cool people from the rest of the wasteland flock to.
