That's cool
wonder how much loot Ashcroft lost out since 97 tho
not like the stones need the money
Song still get's a lot of play.
-
I think he lost millions
This is his retirement ...I mean in a couple of years he is going to be playing coffee houses
Unusual for Stones to give anything away...very...although most of the money has already been made
-
It's a shame they didn't do this the minute Klein the earth for good. the bulk of the money to be made of that song has already been collected.
-
Very true but it could still make good money if it’s picked up for ads designed to appeal to us when we’re older
Imagine a health care or pharma ad
Has anyone noticed the ad featuring the OMD song?
-
while there is no dispute that the bulk of the money has been made
I've heard it in movies and ads...and that will only continue
it's such an iconic song
I'm sure based on this news alone some people will consider using it
while the strings do make it...it's Ashcroft delivery that seals the deal

Dick move by Klein and yes as an extension Mick/Keith.

"Magnanimous" or a settlement for the canceled tour?
Either way, glad it's over. Too bad it didn't happen 22 years earlier and maybe the band wouldn't have broken up.
Ashcroft did play it MUCH more often on the most recent tour, so there was a hint something was up.

Definitely
I noticed Ashcroft thanked a Klein...maybe Allen’s daughter/heir?
Of course the Stones and Allen had a falling out in the late 60s...Keith called the incredible amount of money they lost in their dealing with him “The price of an education “
I believe Allen Klein also managed the Beatles!
But my heart retains a soft spot for him because of the Guralnick bio on Sam Cooke I read....
