Is this a joke? A mere six weeks after Christmas vacation DC students get a week off in what is called “Winter break” ..in a few weeks of course comes Spring break...who is the rocket scientist that came up with this?
Tired of seeing pics of my DC friends chillaxing with their kids in Cozumel or the Caribbean

hutch, we need to talk... you ok? you've taken on a very negative tone over the past few weeks. is this election thing putting a shadow over... well... everything? everything alright on the home-front?
(also, you're stepping on walkies' turf - "everything is shit" is his brand)

Is this true?

Yes, it is. Schools in upstate New York (where I grew up and where other family now resides) also have the week off. Probably other places too.
It looks like VA school get out a week earlier than DC schools, at least this year.

my kiddos just finished their winter break, today was their first day back in front of a teacher in 10 days. so it's definitely a thing. a thing i had never heard of, and not a thing that we had as kids, but a thing nonetheless.

Long Island public schools definitely had the winter break as welll.

I just got an email from Arlington Schools that they will be closed to students March 3 due to the primary
It really is becoming a joke with the early release days, the teacher planning days etc
We are going soft!
