Ticketmaster lists a presale for tomorrow, but it's Fan Club. Anyone know how to join the fan club?!?! Or anyone willing to pass on info to someone who PROMISES not to disseminate the information beyond myself?
Yes, I know I have now posted a fully mock-able message. What's a gal to do. It's Eddie Izzard. Love the man.
-
I've been lookin around and also coming up short. Loved the Sexie tour, my stomach hurt the next day from laughing. If I find anything I'll let you know. Best to you.
-
i just signed up at his website. dont know if its the right fanclub or not.
-

the blather over at eddie site indicates the password will be sent out tomorrow... one would assume it's going out to those registered to his site.
as an aside... yikes is the forum on his site ugly...

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Kosmo and My Cat Can DJ for pm'ing me with what turned out to be the right guess. I'm in row U, which is 21 rows back, but have six tickets off the aisle. Woo hoo!
-
Who the hell are Izzard and what kind of music do they play? I'm amazed they got so popular so quickly.
-
clearly you have not completed the required Executive Transvestite training program in order to attend this show...
-
i actually just made a guess as to the presale password, got it right and i'm in row F. yesssssssss. never been to DAR, though.
ps: bags, sloan is supposedly touring the US this summer.
-
I like Eddie Izzard. I also like Jimmy Carr. Does he ever tour America?

Could someone PM me the password (if the presale is still going)?
I didn't see this thread yesterday and didn't realize I needed to be in alert mode today.
:(
How much are tickets, anyway?
-
$50. I like him a lot but not $50-at-Constitution-Hall a lot.
-
Bought a ticket.
Here's hoping I don't regret it!!
-
BTW...
Ticketmaster also listed an Eddie Izzard/DAR date on Thursday, May 1, in addition to the Fri. 5/2 one. Both are on presale now.
(I went for the Friday show because I was able to get better seats.)
-
got row O tickets for friday! i am very excited for this. Izzard has been one of my favorites for awhile now, and i have yet to have a chance to see him.
-
thanks to bags and ms. moritz for the password. got a single to the thursday show in box 9. i saw bill maher from this exact same box. for comedy shows, i'd rather be close to get facial expressions and can deal with the side-view. and it's not as if i'm worried about off-center sound :) for folks who haven't bought tix yet and are contemplating it, i would recommend the boxes.
-
Interesting... I've never been to DAR, so I had no idea how the seating chart would translate to reality and what the boxes were all about.
I got row L for Friday.
-
Hmm I have Box 9 for Friday night. A great seat, too ... the boxes are the way to go at DAR, especially the up close side ones -- no obstructions. Looking forward to seeing Eddie live for the first time. His vids are a riot.

hi-res DAR seating chart (http://www.dar.org/pics/conthall/seatchrtbig.gif). boxes are raised off the floor a good 10 feet (people in the orchestra walk underneath them to get to their seats) so the only possible obstruction are the other 4 people you may be sharing the box with. depending on the show, all 5 seats might not be sold. boxes are GA, so get there early and grab a seat at the front of the box.

i wouldn't be crazy about box 9 for a music show - you'd be right under or beside the PA, so lousy stereo image. boxes 13-26 are preferable, IMO.
-
you will not regret spending $50 on Izzard. TY all for the presale.. ends up I can't afford to go, but a friend is surprising his GF with two nights there thanks to you guys. <3
-
Any chance someone could PM me the presale pass? Thanks
-
i've never been to DAR. let's say i have a choice between Box 29 and a seat in row N. what should i go for?

Row N is substantially closer to the stage.

plus i'm sitting in row n ;)
one advantage of being in a box at DAR is that is a bit more room as the seats are a tad narrow... but you are sharing a box with other people
-
agreed, row N > box 29.
-
thanks, guys. i had tickets in row D for friday, but can't go that day (damn you, brother, for graduating that weekend!). so i may go for row N for thursday.
i was just wondering because, with all the talk about boxes being good spots to see the show, that it may have been better to go for that.
-
Jamie, I hope this doesn't turn out like your aborted Superdrag reunion mission.
-
oh, you hush. aren't they going on tour again soon? i'll have a better plan of action next time.
you should go see eddie izzard and buy me a drink.
-
Got tix for Thursday night for me and the Mrs.
Superdrag's in Bmore April 9th. Don't keep holding your breath for a Richmond date.
-
if you don't need all 6 tickets, give a holler and i'll take an extra off your hands.
