I think I'm gonna put on Lazer Guided Melodies.
Edit: Someone posts (very infrequently) as "Loveless."
Edit2: There aren't any hip-hop songs used as handles on this board. I vote that Julian change his to "Bitches Ain't Shit." ;)

I always assumed that came from On The Road.

though many songs have my name, my favourite being miss thing herself, b. spears, mine is from a neo-modern piece of my own written work, where i am attempting to dissect and reform the genre of creative nonfiction.

you're probably not going to get an answer. i saw sal at the SY@NYC concert on the 4th, and he informed me that he "doesn't have internetz anymore". he hasn't posted on here in months. he's a really really nice guy, btw.

When I first got on this board back in 1996 or 1997, I was Ceremony, named for a Joy Division/New Order song, which was my favorite song of all time at that point. I then changed it to Ian Curtis (you know who he is!) because people thought Ceremony was a female.
Then around 1999 I settled on OscartheWilde, named for some obscure cello player.
-
This thread is just stupid!
-
Does a screen name "borrowed" from an associate of a band count? If so then mine is from Kosmo Vinyl publicist of the Only Band That Really Matter, The Clash.
-
there is a wikipedia entry that lists them all:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/930_forum_boardies_with_names_from_bands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/930_forum_boardies_with_names_from_bands)

was it deleted by wiki ?

Ahh...missed that earlier. Was the "other" portion of that post an edit? Guess my hip-hop joke falls flat too because I totally forgot about thingsfallapart. :)

POTW. [/b]
and you win second place, for abbreviating the phrase "Post of the week."
-
I just saw one on another board that I'm surprised nobody here thought of:
Friend Of Goo
I might just decide to steal it.
Edit: it's actually "my friend goo" now that I look at it again. I guess that makes sense although I like mine better because it's not a direct rip of the lyric.

seriously? are you new here, betty? :p
"POTW" has been used for at least a year, if not more.

If there were a thread for Boardies who's name appeared in a Bands Name/Song/Lyrics after they created it for board use, vansmack would be top of the list because it's only a matter of time before somebody references vansmack in a song.
-
Haven't you heard the latest Jay Brannan single?

Hey! Your handle appears in a man or astro-man song as well as being the name of a TV show character. That should count.
(Man or Astro-Man did the theme for MST3K for anyone who didn't know)

I have a feeling that Space has spent the last few days carefully and thoughtfully composing his 11,000th comment, an epic tome that will span the universe of the accumulated knowledge of humankind and unite us all in a glorious mass of vibrational energy.
-
I'll take the under on that.
-
As those of you who have met me IRL are aware, I’m the lead singer of The Strokes.

Well Space now has until 11/4 to make his last and final comment here his 11,000th, here's hoping it's SPECTULAR.
