This is post pandemic for IMP, yes? And it seems that all the new shows at 9:30 and Anthem at least are sold through TicketMaster. Think this is forever?
Stupid fees. Though Ticketfly had scooted up into a similar range. And I will say, the transfer capability on the TM app is pretty great when, like me, I buy several tickets for my crew (the crew is a bit smaller now, but equally dedicated to those shows we attend!).

AND, just this week came across two new sales mechanisms.
(1) Presale "Autobuy" -- For the New Pornos artist presale you had to register, and when you did you were given the option to select "autobuy" which gives you a chance at getting up to four tickets before the presale. You give them your ccc info, and they email you back the morning of the presale to say you got your tickets, or you were not selected and then they give you the presale password. I signed up for both nights of the NPs and got autobuy for Dec 2 (Twin Cinema) and was not sellected for Dec 1 (Mass Romantic).
Got this message for the autobuy I didn't get: "We were not able to secure 4 tickets in advance. Your credit card has not been charged. Don't worry! Additional tickets go on sale today at 10am local. Use code: ROMANTIC"
(2) Verified Fan Registration: For Phoebe Bridgers, I got a TM email with an "invitation" to buy PB tickets. I had to register with TM as a Verified Fan for this show -- I thought I was signing up for a presale. No, for the general sale! And the sale is Friday, registration closed at Noon on Wednesday. So if you didn't register, you can't even buy tickets. ????
Right now it's all good, but I'm waiting for the tours that I want to see but am not an insider or on email lists, etc.
Thoughts from the live show masters?

Autobuy is an interesting concept. Maybe. I suppose that reduces the surge of purchases on the day of sale?
How did your seats turn out?
-
I plan on buying my New Pornos tickets at the Club or the Ticket Van. Is IMP still doing those?

haven't heard word of the van as of late, but I know the box offices at Lincoln and Anthem are open

I need to go back to school regarding ticket sales….
-
Forum legend azaghal is also very upset by the TM services at IMP. He also thinks they should spend their own money to have their own ticket service, which is laughable at best.
I mean, at this point, what does a small independent company even have as an option.

Does Ticketmaster offer anyone like TicketflyAmy?
-
Probably a TicketmasterKaren?
-
TicketmasterPat that goes by They/Them

It's a GA show, so easy call to go with Autobuy.

Because the band is going to only six cities I assumed this show would sell out fast, so not willing to wait for an in-person purchase.

FWIW, Carl doesnt think that these are immediate sell outs.

I appreciate everyone trying to get pre-sale tickets but, aside from Levon’s place in Woodstock (250 cap), there should be enough tickets for anyone buying them Friday morning. I’ve been in this band for a long time and we’re not one of those ‘sell out in 5 minutes’ type of acts.

never too late to become one...these are post-panda times.
some people are in bucket-list mode with their concert purchases, I really think nostalgia touring could be a huge moneymaker
Wouldn't put this as a bucket list show for me, but there is some hype on this board and you know we are the dictators of taste

I’ve long been known as an adroit tastemaker and I think they suck.

maybe if they call it a Final Tour like Dr. Dog....

Bought tickets to 3 shows this week and have tickets to 2 others, all purchased on ticketmaster.
I chose for hard copy tickets to be mailed to me (apart from Phoebe Bridgers, which appears to be mobile only and not delivered until 3 days before the show) as I view the stubs as memorabilia.
Does anyone know if this mean I will be unable to use ticketmaster to sell if i'm unable to make it? I've successfully had tickets transferred to me in the past but don't believe i've ever sold them on the site.

Don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure you can still sell them and your hard tickets will be cancelled and you'll be able to sell a mobile/electronic version.

this is my understanding as well - assuming TM allows ticket exchange for that given show. pre-panda some shows were designated as no-transfer shows, i'm assuming this will continue post-panda.

This may surprise a lot of folks, but I buy a lot of concert tickets.
I don't usually have to sell them, but am curious: are all Ticketmaster tix now just not sellable at all? I have tix accross multiple venues, DC, MD, NY, MA and none seem to be resellable via Ticketmaster. Cannot even print a PDF to resell on Stubhub. Do people just list on Stubhub and once sold transfer via Ticketmaster transfer button?
-
Not all shows, I don't know what determines if you can transfer tix or 'verified resale'

I think I asked too soon, it seems you just list on stubhub and if sold, its now on the seller to complete the transfer where Stubhub just used to handle that. Cheers

I *think* I understand your question... but this happened to me for the Phish shows (that ended up being cancelled anyway).
You make the transfter to the generic supplied gmail address that Stubhub provides (stubhub then gets notice that you made the transfer), andt hen you get paid once the event takes place. HOWEVER, there is a weird loop hole that technically the buyer doesn't have to "accept" the transfer... but as long as stubhub has been notified the transfer took place, you will be paid. They recommened taking a screenshot of the transfer, so this system obviously isn't full proof.
Make sense?
