Fair enough.
Your encyclopedic knowledge of music is a national treasure tho.

This has been a go to song for decades
The Pursuit Of Hippiness - I’m An Adult Now
https://youtu.be/VB9qb5S8Xlg
Sometimes my head hurts and sometimes my stomach hurts
And I guess it won't be long
'Fore I'm sitting in a room with a bunch
Of people whose necks and backs are aching
Whose sight and hearing's fading
Who just can't seem to get it up
Speaking of hearing, I can't take too much loud music
-
Ok I do like flattery!
My favorite song about getting old is John Prine’s Hello in there
-
But the greatest song about getting old is Iris Dement’s My Life
-
Strike that…the greatest song about getting old is Bob Dylan’s Not Dark Yet
-
The Pogues - And the band played waltzing Matilda
Ok now am depressed
-
The Beatles "When I'm 64"
Not that 64 is old.
-
Springsteen -Growin Up
-
Based on the lyrics I don't think this one works for playlist imo.
Springsteen -Growin Up
-
photosynthesis - by Jules fav frank turner
Well I guess I should confess that I am starting to get old
All the latest music fads all passed me by and left me cold
All the kids are talking slang I won't pretend to understand
All my friends are getting married, mortagages and pension plans
And it's obvious my angry adolescent days are done
And I'm happy and I'm settled in the person I've become
But that doesn't mean I'm settled up and sitting out the game
Time may change a lot but some things may stay the same
And I won't sit down
And I won't shut up
And most of all I will not grow up

I really think Joaquin Sabina has the best lyrics about aging.
A mis cuarenta y diez (at my forty and ten) is particularly brilliant.

Maybe I will translate it… I had done a few on an old blog

As good
Ahora que (now that)

Arguably the greatest song Sabina has written….a complete masterpiece
Unlike Bob Dylan Sabina was still writing incredible verse into his 50s.

Lo niego todo (I deny it all) from what is likely to be his final studio album in 2017
If you think about it it’s kind of a reverse Sinatra My Way (a classic song about having aged)
Also Sinatra’s September of my years

Misread this at first and thought we were talking about Sabrina Carpenter and was like “finally, talking about some decent music!”

I made the same misread as well.

How can one misread this unless they can’t read? Sabrina Carpenter is a “he” and writing “in his 50s”??

Losing My Edge
Too easy?
