only if they let me DJ this time...

they had their own DJ last time and the reason I'm bitter is because I got bumped at the last minute last time and as sweetcell can attest was crushed beyond belief..
-
i would guess Hot Chips DJs means they themselves will be DJing...
what we need for this show is a pre-party affair as well...
-
I'm excited for this show as well, hoping the crowd is more into it than last spring's show - which was far from selling out.

but i'd rather have the lackluster crowd and extra dance space, vs. the packed house full of crazies that will be at the upcoming show. last spring's show was eff'brilliant - so much room! i actually thought the crowd was decent. not a crazy dance party... but it is DC, waddaya expect.

'more into it' ?? where I was standing, the crowd was having a ton of fun - and that was what the show was: F-U-N. Even the Washington Post and their review of the show noted the atmosphere, Hot Chip put on one of the best shows of the year IMO. If the crowd is packed and damn annoying as last nights, I'll be peeved.

It's Joe from the band and maybe some of the other guys if they have records on them and feel like djing. We've DJ'd with them twice before and it's always been at least Joe. The first time it was also with Al and Pat Mahoney, so who knows? Not sure what'll happen until we get to the Black Cat. It's at least Joe though.

is there a chance Sorted will sell out??

It's possible.
-
If I had effing tickets, probably.
-
Anyone have any info (setlists, reviews) of last night's philly show?
Any opinions on Free Blood?
-
There seem to be a quite a few tickets being offered at reasonable prices.

HC are hitting the stage pretty late (11:15) - i might have time to run over from verizon center after the hockey game and catch their set. it'll depend on how much energy i have at that point, if i'm sober enough to make it to the club, and me finding someone selling a spare out front... lot of "ifs"

what time is the hot chip djing at the black cat.

Nah. He's not going. I even offered him one my two tickets free.
But I did unload them...
-
Why so many tickets floating near list price (or free)??

Mine were because a friend of mine ended up having to do something else. She didn't want them to go to waste or care to turn a profit.

eff it, i'm in.
to anyone who might have a spare ticket for tonight: please PM me. i'll be heading over to the club after the hockey game, so i should make it there just in time for HC.
i was going to see HC in nyc, then in philly, but both plans were canned. i can't pass up this opportunity to catch the show here in DC, given that i'm never here on fridays.

Late! After the show, probably not until 1am.
-
i have grown attachments to this hot chip band, and it only took two or so listens. i even rushed out to buy their last disk, and will seek out earlier ones. i've seen only few live takes of them in show mode, though, but they (to me in my opinion) have a look as if the dead milkmen had been born twenty years later and played with crazy intruments to make music instead of sarcastic college cheap beer kegger sounds that the milkmen perfected.

They're probably the band that I'll be kicking myself for missing about three months from now when I finally get around to hearing their music.
-
Show was awesome. Sound was great. They said they'll be back later this year.
-
i had so much fun last night. if they are back i will be there. the crowd was great.
love crap kraft dinner.
free blood. i didn't know the guy from chk chk chk was a band member.
loooooooooooooove his voice.
:)
-
I liked the small crowd at last year's show.
Did the new stuff sound better in a live setting than it does on disc?
The new album kinda bored me.
-
What a great show that was! I lost my voice though. Ugh.
