Hey, DEVO would be a great show to add to the 9:30 lineup. They do a few shows each year that continue to sell-out, usually in New York, Chicago and LA. What better plae to bring their theories of De-evolution, than back to the nation's capital.
They can be found at their official website: www.clubdevo.com (http://www.clubdevo.com)
Duty now!

The first Devo record is one of my all-time faves.
-
It would sell out quickly here also, but alas, Seth has never bothered to book 'em! Who knows?? Maybe some year......
-
Devo is on Seth's shortlist of acts he'd like to bring to the club...

Easily one of the best live acts I've ever witnessed.Their energy and stage antics were incredible, even in outside venues such as Merriweather.Mark was running up and down the aisles like a madman.I wouldn't change my Q:Are we not Men? mousepad for anything.Would love to see them come to 930.

Hey Sparks! I recorded DEVO's Merriweather show in 1980 and it is available through a fan site, sanctioned by DEVO, called, Boogie Boy's Basement. They offer up a selection of recorded shows (audio and video).

Bring DEVO to the 9:30 Club!!! The Devolved ones see the email sent to their site, so 9:30 should eb able to reach them by email there (www.clubdevo.com) or via their recording studio in LA, Mutato Musika (http://www.mutato.com).

Actually, Devo would be a great double header with Kraftwerk.
-
OMG...Kraftwerk and Devo would we INCREDIBLE.

Sweet,thanks for the tip!!

Remember DEVO at the old club around 1990, they played the first few songs acoustic sitting down, then explained they wanted to show they could still sit after years of being reamed by the music biz...
would love to see them back
-
DEVO at the old 9:30 was one of the best show I have seen and I have seen lots of them. If anyone can get them to play in DC, it is going to be Seth.
-
I think the last time DEVO played around D.C. was in 1988... They are long overdue for a return!!!
-
That Devo show at the old 930 was great. Seeing Mark stage dive wearing a diaper totally added to the frantic fun.
I saw that they were planning to play in NYC this summer and sent a note to the club devo website asking if they were considering heading south for a visit. The response from gerald casale said "they were looking into it".
A (booji) boy can dream, can't he?
-
if devo came to dc, i'd go.
-
Too late. After Melt Banana's Devo cover last night at the Black Cat, there is no longer a need for any Devo in this area for some time.
-
Woo Hoo! Spud boys are coming to the 9:30 in August!
Now, THAT was a fast response to my earlier message!
Thanks 930!

not so fast really, I'd been working on it since last October!
-
Thanks for all of the hard work to both you and Seth! This is turning out to be a stellar year of 9:30 shows (and a huge drain on my bank account).
