I'm thinking about it. I really like Two If By Sea. Any thoughts on Soft Complex?

I'm playing Friday loose, but I'd love to see Two if by Sea.... Like Chutney -- thoughts on the other bands (otherwise I might check out TIBS and then head to DC9 for drinkin')

This should be a cool show. Soft Complex sound a bit like the Smiths...moody...they have a cellist. Nice. City Goats are a rockin' good time too...and their cute!

I saw Soft Complex last February open for Ratatat, and I really didn't like them at all. I found the singer really annoying and the rest of the band to not be particularly confident or exciting. That one song has a catchy hook... the one on their web site... but thats about the only good thing i can think of to say about them. I wouldn't reccomend them.

Anyone go? How was it?

yeah, anyone?, anyone?

Hmm...not a huge response, I was wondering how this show was as well....
-
Yeah me too- I was curious to see these bands on the big stage...
Ah well.
Anyone going to the show at BlackCat on the 30th, the DCist gig? Should be a decent one.

do any of the admins know how many people showed up to this?
-
don't know an exact number, but there were a couple hundred people there through the course of the evening.
-
So many curious minds, yet not curious enough to check the show out?
Well, I'd have to say that those of you who snoozed missed out big time. Two If By Sea have matured A LOT since the last time I saw them. They seemed perfectly suited to the legendary 9:30 Club stage. I can see great things in their future....
Soft Complex were also fantastic. Very pretty stuff. The singer is very Morrissey, and the use of the cellist was a great touch.
The Citygoats, while not exactly my cuppa tea, were a good rockin' time.
The Silverthree people (and those of us who helped them) were really happy with the turnout, and can't wait to do it again! Thanks to those who came out.....it was a BLAST.

Was out of town, would have loved to have gone.
Thanks for the re-cap.
