I met you at the Victor Wooten concert last night. We only talked for a moment, but I am now kicking myself for not getting your number, or at least letting you know how beautiful I thought you were. We talked about tea, you mentioned white, and I mentioned another type. E-mail me at 930@nicksmithpublications.com with the type of tea I mentioned if you care to talk. If not, I totally understand.

I was sitting here brainstorming for DAYS thinking about what was missing on this board.....now I know.......we need a singles/I Saw You thread running nonstop on this forum!!......brilliant! :roll:

Don't you think beautiful women probably get tired of complete strangers approaching them and telling them how beautiful they are within the first five minutes of conversation?
Tell her she has great taste in shoes or shows or, or that you love her haircut. That way you're complimenting something she had a role in choosing.

actually, when i saw Coldplay in Baltimore there was a girl sitting next to me and she was very beautiful. I was with friends so really wasnt talking to her at all, but before i left, she kinda looked over and i just told her that she was the most beautiful girl i had seen in a very long time. and as we were walking to the car she caught all the way up to us and gave me her number and i actually met up with her a week later....she was 19. haha. oops.

I don't think there's anything wrong with telling a woman you think she's beautiful, as long as you're being genuine of course. Although, I think you're taking a chance of being belittled doing it in DC with the majority of them being nasty bitches around here.
There was a woman in the Fresh Fields in Rockville a few months ago and she caught me staring at her, so I said, "I'm sorry for staring, but you have the most beautiful eyes" She thanked me for the compliment and we went our seperate ways. I decided to be honest because that was the reason she caught my eye.

Don't remember what i said to some chick at a concert last year but what ever it was she liked it, she had her tongue down my throat for the rest of the show, of coures i never did get her name......matter of fact i havent seen her since......We need more shows like that.

I always give a compliment when I notice something that looks especially good -- either someone's watch or hair or a great tie or fabulous purse. I think it's awesome to give a warm fuzzy because it's genuine, and they know it -- I don't know them, and am just admiring their taste. If you admire it, let 'em know. Makes people feel good.
I don't tend to give those general, "you're so handsome" compliments.

I was never interested in "picking up" women. I always wanted a girlfriend. I suppose if you're looking to get laid by some slut, a cheeseball comment like "You're beautiful" might be a good starting point. Although if she truly is a looker, she's probably heard a stupid line like that a million times, and probably thinks you're just another moron.
I tell my wife she's beautiful practically every day of the year. And yes, she likes it when I tell it to her. But I sure as shit didn't tell her that until I actually got to know her.

It's what happens, usually with Rhett. After a while, you lose patience and get fed up with his sanctimony. I understand it completely. Now if only I can remember to just not reply to his posts....that's my bad.

That's what I figured, Sonick. Unless you're dense and think people only say something like that to "get laid," you'd get that it was an unconditional compliment from your telling of it.

I agree. It's hilarious. I love to get a compliment, even if it's from someone about my jacket or bag or something.. it's just a nice gesture that everyone can appreciate. If I were talking to a guy and he said that I was very beautiful, I think that I'd be able to tell if he were being sleazy or just being nice. My point being - not everyone who makes a nice comment is a gross manslut trying to get laid. Some people just like to be nice. ;)

I guess my point was that if a woman is beautiful by societies standards, she is going to get complimented on how beautiful she is so many times that she is going to get tired of it.
If I had told my wife how beautiful she was right off, she probably wouldn't have taken me very seriously...just thought I was another typical Maxim inspired cheeseball nerd who places too much emphasis on looks.
My point was compliment their taste, or compliment their intellect....especially if you're complimenting a woman already deemed beautiful by societies standards...that will make you stand out more than all the other nerds who tell her the same thing.

As for what girls and women like, I guess it really depends. I have found that when perfect strangers give compliments that I feel are too intimate or intense, like "you're so beautiful", I'm likely to at least roll my eyes on the inside while I politely mutter "thanks" and hurry on.

What you should do Guiny, is take her to the Common Share, which is a dump across the Street from Staccato, but all of their drinks are $2.50 or something like that. Then bring her drunk ass over to the party. Then do whatever you had planned for later. Though the new bathroom at Staccato is pretty big....

We point out attractive women and men to each other as well. But for me, I just don't think it would be appropriate to tell another woman she has "beautiful eyes". I might THINK it, or I might even point it out to my wife, but I certainly don't see any reason to say it to the person.

Hmmmm, I might not have said "beautiful" if my wife was there....maybe "nice"...or maybe just said "hello" or something.
Now you've got me thinking...if I wasn't flirting, which I wasn't, and just being genuine, which I was...why would I have not said the same thing had my wife been with me? Hopefully some Psych101 can answer for me.

What the hell happened to that huge influx of newbies?!!? I remember they meandered around during the Justin Timberlake hoopla, but where did they go? Did we really scare them away that much? Erm, I mean, did Rhett really scare them away? ;)
